Bummer. I am in the same boat at the beginning of the process. Going in circles between the service department and FCA...no one wants to deal with the issue. First P0300 at around 300 miles, total of 5 Check engine lights - Three P0300 codes and now a P0300. This is also my third Jeep....I wish I had my plain Jane 2013 Wrangler Sport. I am so disappointed.
Honestly...get a lawyer or they will round you around for months..even with a lawyer they are resisting. At this point I'm waiting on a court date. Looks like it's Bronco time.

No codes, no misses, no issues engine-wise so far, 8500 miles. Mine was bought November 15 but more importantly, it was BUILT the week before. So the build date is the second week of November, likely the engine was just before that (used to be an engine was built a week or two before the vehicle, now it's likely closer)
Since these engines don't sit stacked in crates for 3 or 4 weeks or more before the vehicle was built and because there are dates cast on all major parts, they KNOW already which engines have issues. They know exactly when your engine was built -the date, day, the shift, in some cases, maybe the hour it was machined. So it's not a matter of "that's too much work" - they have that information already, it EXISTS. They can't NOT have it because they are an ISO certified company AND they have to comply with federal regs. So it's not work, it's a matter of sitting down, pressing a button and finding all vehicles made between certain dates - eve hours on certain dates, what line they came off of and more.
Heck, I can look up the numbers on my 73 AMC and tell you the LINE it was made, the sequence number and more - and every piece of sheet metal has a date stamped on it. That was almost 50 freakin' years ago - nope, Jeep knows exactly who owns the trucks with the bad blocks. It's not work, it's already in the computers. Print a report - it's that simple.

But MY question is - for the good of the JT owners here - has "the forum" narrowed down the build dates of those who are having issues? Not when it was bought, but when it was built (mine I KNOW was built the very week before I gave the dealer my check for the full amount)
My issues started around that mileage.

I bet one of the dealers on here could tell you at least close based on the VIN.
Spencer gave me a ton of info on my wife's GC based only on the VIN - for example, if it sat on the dealer lot for 2 months and then you bought it and it was titled to you - that info would show up.

I bought it Dec 20th. It probably falls within those dates.

I realized pretty quick that Jeep knows exactly which engines have problems and they have no intention of offering a realistic Buy Back. I too was a long time Jeep Owner....NEVER AGAIN. I was losing sleep at night, so I called my salesman instead of the service department. Luckily the dealer worked with me on trading it in today....I now have a Ram 1500 4x4 with a Hemi....

October. Dealer just replaced an injector. Let's see how it goes.

So looks like all the Gladiators on this thread have build dates between September 2019 and February 2020 with the majority falling between October 2019 and December 2019 and were built in Mexico.

Put 50 miles on new engine yesterday. No problems 20 mpg great acceleration. Last 2 gladiators krunked out under 50 miles. Tell your dealerships to check on the bad engine blocks and stop waisting your time. The compression leak down on left bank is the first clue. I believe they know exactly how many defective units are out there.

So I’m now at 3946 miles, some 1300 miles since it was last in the shop having the left side guts replaced. This morning I got the first ESS light I’ve seen since back then. Thanks to the wizards in this forum, I checked the codes (I now keep a scanner in the console, which I shouldn’t have to do) and saw it has a pending PO306 - same code it had at the beginning. So I’m afraid we’re about to go for another ride down FCA road...

Sorry to hear that Gameshow. My final step of the buy back is scheduled for next Monday. Turn my keys over and they hand me a check. I seriously can't believe how long this process has taken. Still gun shy to buy another Jeep. Good Luck. Wish you the best.

Been following this thread for the last few days. Purchased my JTR in December and it's been in the shop for the CEL 4 times. I am getting the same thing...FCA engineers working on software fixes. I also experienced the ASS light coming on. It's been in the shop since Tues and today is Saturday....perfect weather for Jeeping with the top off. I might run by the dealer and find out what my build date was.

Hey All!
If you have had the P0300 code with check engine light & ESS light post your build date. Look for MDH (month/Date/Hour) on the door well sticker. DO NOT POST IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD THE ABOVE MENTIONED.
Lets keep the replies just to build date so its easy to decipher, not some long write up ok.
If you know your engine assembly location include it. ( should be on the vehicle sticker that shows all options & final price)
Build date is located on the sticker in the drivers door well under MDH.
Let see if we can narrow this down and find a pattern.
