Teraflex 1.5 Leveling Kit Questions

I have those tires on another vehicle after having the st maxx cooper on my JKU - love them. What size are you running? I would like to upgrade to those - i don't see any std load 33s though. Thanks-

I have the Terra Flex 1.5 and Daystar 3/4 rear spacers on mine 285/75R17 BFG K02. Zero issues with anything at all.

After requesting quotes locally to install the leveling kit, sway bar links, teraflex shock extension brackets, geo brackets and track bar, I decided to do it myself. Two shops never called me back the third one wanted $580 plus tax and shop supplies just for the leveling kit, track bar and brackets. But the soonest they could get me in was the second week of October. The local Jeep dealer quoted me $915 for the same. The job is simple if you have the tools, big jack and stands. The drivers side where I started took me the longest. I did have some issues with the supplied hardware on the shock brackets and also installing the bump stops. I followed the Teraflex instructions on torque specs and I stripped one of the supplied nuts. The track bar was a bear to remove and reinstall the new one.

You have to play musical chairs with the jack but you can do it with just one jack and one stand. I had a piece of 6x6x8" that I used on the jack to lift the Jeep high enough to fit the jack stand on its high setting under the frame. Then I removed the jack and used it to lift and lower the axle when needed to droop it so I could remove the spring.

I torqued everything to specs and recentered the steering wheel (still needs a little adjustment). I didn't get a chance to install the geo brackets. After 5 hours in the sun I called it quits.

The axle is now poking to the passenger side and it is noticeable. I'm sure that will be taken care with the alignment. I will do the geo brackets tomorrow and then will take it in for the alignment.

I like the way it looks now. I'm surprised that it still looks good with the 32" tires.

I wish I didn't have my garage full of our belongings. I retired last May at 52, and we moved to our vacation home and haven't yet unpacked everything hence the reason I was working under the sun. It was too windy to use the portable canopy.

I haven't yet measured and compared the front and back but it looks level to me.

What do you think about the way it looks with the 32s?

I just got this kit and I'm curious on if I have to remove the track bar bolts. It seems like it would be easy enough to use my spring compressor clamps, pull the spring out, install the spacer and be done. Thoughts?

yes, it will be a lot easier to have the track bar detached.

Only have to remove one track bar bolt, not both.

Planning on doing this in the next few weeks. Will a spring compressor help with the job, IE allowing the installer to take fewer things apart? I have a nice OTC compressor.

Probably going to do the same to my new to me Rubicon since I traded the Willys last Monday. I'm contemplating stacking TF spacers to get 2" up front and add Daystar 3/4" to the back (already have them laying around). I would do an adjustable track bar since I can't stand the axle shifting to the right looking from the inside. I have JKS geo correction brackets that I didn't use the last time since I left it at 1.5" in the front for the Willys. Do you think stacking spacers to 2" is a bad idea? I'm in the middle of home additions and finishing our guest house and I really can't divert money to a full blown 2" lift with springs, etc. I'm planning on going up to 35" since I don't want to re-gear the Rubi.

You will always regret being cheap on suspension components, at least in my experience. The Teraflex 1.5" gives you a nice level with very little rake (Almost none on a JTRD). You also should not be using geo correction brackets until you're over a 3" lift, unless it's a pavement princess then you're fine.

Below is a picture of a JTRD on 37s with a Teraflex 1.5" Leveling Kit. You don't need an adjustable trackbar with this type of setup. Though you'll eventually wind up replacing the front steering anyways with larger tires, the factory stuff isn't a fan of it long term.

The Teraflex 1.5" on a Rubicon can fit 37s if staying on the road, and 35s very comfortably.
