Hi guys, id like to get your thoughts about the 2.0 turbo gas. I am seriously considering trading my JTR for it, I need better gas mileage, and my JTR MT is getting about 12-13 mpg :) in city.,

How much is it going to cost you to get into the Wrangler? That usually buys a lot of gas to stay with what you have.

I have always felt if the cost of gas is that crippling, need to get out of either platform and into something more economical.

How much do you spend on gas a year?

We had a wrangler unlimited with the 2.0 turbo and I don't think the mileage was much different than the V6 (we've had a lot of jeeps). What I did notice was less power for pulling trailers. Plenty of acceleration empty though. just my .02

Your best bet for good MPG is an Overland with a automatic transmission that is completely stock with a tonneau cover or a cap. Since the Overland is no longer being produced, you'll have to try with a stock Sport. Lifts, big tires, and manual transmissions are not good, when seeking higher MPG.

Wrangler will get very slightly better mpg, but not much maybe tens of dollars a year. If you really just want a wrangler though, the 2.0 is a fine engine that seems to be about as reliable as anything else.

12-13mpg? Damn, I get at least high teens.

If you are this worried about mpg, you should probably stay way from Jeeps (Wrangler/Gladiator) in general. They are not going to be the best if this is a priority.

Personally, if I had to drive a lot every day where mpg was important, I'd get a 2-3yr old Corolla hatch (manual) and keep the Gladiator

My take on it is this: if you have an actual intention to trade it in, go to the JL Forum to get talked into it, go to the Gladiator forum to get talked out of it.

My 2023 Gladiator High Altitude 19-21 (mixed) V6 373s (5K miles)

I drive very civil, very few "hard" accelerations.

The JTR in my sig gets 14-15 around town and 16-17 on freeway. Everything I have done to it has lowered the factory MPG.

What about an 025 JT 4xe? Depending on usage, it may be transformative for mileage.

The weight penalty worth it for dual fuel payoff imho.
