I am currently in the Colorado Alpine Loop area this week breaking in my newish 21 Rubicon. I am learning all the gadgets as I do the trails and I have to say this vehicle is simply amazing compared to my old TJ. I find the tool I am using the most is the offroad button setting that allows you to keep your gear and speed ultra low. Using this thing is like cheating and the jeep virtually drives itself up and down the extreme rocky grades. No brake or gas needed, just pick your lines and steer!

Now the bad part. Heading out to Animas Forks late this afternoon and there was a caravan of Toyota rigs coming in. Driving like bats out of hell and blowing by vehicles on narrow parts of the trail. All of them at once. Complete and dangerous jerks. I cannot see a pack of jeeps ever doing this. All the jeeps were giving way, driving carefully and courteously, and generally just behaving as you would want someone to out there.

So far this week I have picked up an old man that fell on the sidewalk in Silverton, changed a flat on a minivan in Lake City, and stayed at Animas Forks until a guy in an old CJ could fix his fuel pump to make sure he could get back. Didn't know any of them. It's just what Jeep people do.

I am a Christian and don't wish evil on anyone, but I hope the Big Guy has some really special trail breakdowns scheduled.for the Toyota jerks....
Sorry about your experience. While discourteous trail use is just wrong, I've observed conduct the other way around just as often. Same goes for the full-size truck crowd. Or different motorcycle groups, for that matter.

Calling them "Toyota jerks" and implying that it's because they are driving a certain brand just fuels the fire because they would have driven like that in a jeep too. Threads like this cause more harm than good because it starts to develop biases against other people who have done absolutely nothing wrong based on what they drive.

I enjoy a friendly rivalry as much as anyone, I equally despise poor home training/trail etiquette. Save that crap for your video games, folks

Owning sports cars, muscle cars, 4wd trucks, it’s pretty much all the same in my experience. You’ve got great people and absolute asshats that drive the same make and model. My advice? Seek out and enjoy the great people and blow off the asshats.
Oh, and most important of all, BE one of the good guys!

There jerks and such on both sides. I've been on trails with great Toyota people in FJ's and Tacoma's and Jeep guys as well. I have also saw the bad side of both. There is a guy who we really can't mention, who use to run a forum, who does YouTube crap and is a real DickHead in person and so are all his jeep goons who runs with him. If you can't send him stuff for free then your stuff you make is crap and if you got a difference of opinion then you used to get banned from his forum. Guys like him make the Jeep community look like a**holes. Just sayin, it runs both ways

Oh FFS…

And some of the worst people I’ve ever run into are the ones who take every opportunity to remind you how good they are and that they are “christians”; but when you’re not paying attention they’ll try to put one hand on your wallet and the other on your wife’s ass…

You really think the choice in vehicle brand determines a persons worth? The old Chevy vs. Ford or Harley vs. Indian.

Grow up…

Maybe it's just out there. The Yota's here in KY are great folks, often leading cleanup events and charity rides. They mainly stick to themselves though. One of the biggest Jeep groups however, their leadership sucks, often leading newbies on trails they can't handle, trespassing, and throwing lit cigarettes into the brush

When I encounter assholes like this, I try to ignore it, and then politely wish 2 flat tires on them (simultaneously). One flat is easily remedied with a spare. Get two at once, well, let's just say it'll be inconvenient at the least.

Not gonna lie I've always thought it was ridiculous how truck people and car people always get worked up about other brands. That being said I can't help but notice taco drivers always getting my attention with the way they drive....
Reminds me of High School drama crap. A lot of drama over things that really do not matter.

My dad is super into the amateur Bigfoot researching scene, and it is just like high school with its cliques. It's amazing how much time some of the folks in the group spend talking about other folks in other groups.

This might be of interest to you. Toyota actually banned exporting the new land cruisers to prevent this.

"Reading between the lines, Toyota is concerned the new Land Cruiser could be used by terrorist groups, which has been the case with older versions of the SUV as well as with the Hilux pickup truck."
I have nothing against Toyotas. Bad guys will find other vehicles, or other ways.to get them.
