I know it’s on here but haven’t been able to find it.
What trailer brake controller for a 2022 overland eco diesel. What all harnesses for plug and play. I’m heading to some mountains soon and might need trailer brakes for the little camper.
Thanks guys

How Jeep can rate a JT to tow 7K and not put in a brake control device or offer one as an option just shows how screwed up they are. In California you have to have brakes on any trailer over 1500 pounds.

I believe you can order a mopar controller that is some sort of Redar hardware. The JT also has a trailer controller plug tucked up under the steering wheel, so they did provide provisions to easily add a controller and not run a bunch of wires.

My '22 JTR has a 7 pin TT plug on the bumper that I could plug my 6K TT into. What a surprise that would be to a non-informed person. Any possible liability for Jeep?.

I would guess the kind of trailer socket style a manufacturer installed would not be a reason anyone could claim they believed the vehicle could tow whatever plugs in the same with it having a two inch receiver if it did we would probably see a big change like no more towing stuff. The majority of liability if not all of it would be on the driver probably an unsafe operation for conditions and anything else that goes with the severity of the accident including reckless driving etc. When in an accident due to insufficient space to stop, going to fast to control the load trailer or not either way it would most likely be considered operator error excessive speed for conditions.

I installed the MOPAR controller. Looks factory (because it is) and its plug in play. Only downside is you loose your cig outlet. You can get creative and relocate it if you want. Or if you're like me and have never used it, then you wont miss it.

What's really messed-up is the factory Mopar Brake Controller has been on "back order" for years now! Me thinks "Back Order" means "No Longer Available" but Jeep won't admit this SAFETY item won't ever be available - while we suckers take daily risks towing while Jeep lies to us. You think it being a safety issues they would tell owners to buy an aftermarket brake controller and not wait years for a "Back-ordered", non-existent safety device. Today I finally give up on the liars at Mopar!!!.

I've been very happy with my Tekensha Primus IQ brake controller. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. It was $140 installed by my trailer place when I bought my camper. Works perfectly, as advertised. Sits on my lower dash above the gas pedal and is totally unobtrusive, yet I can see it working as it shows braking strength on the trailer relative to how much brake I'm applying in my Gladiator.

Any leads on where to find one? Looks like 82215652AD is the part number. I ordered one from BAM yesterday and received an order cancellation today. I get to looking around online and find that it shows sold out or discontinued at every online retail outlet including fleaBay. I'd really like to get the factory option if I can.
