I have owned many JK and JL jeeps and this is the first one to leak....
And I'm hoping they find and resolve it properly without delay and it's the last leak you see in a Jeep.
As a former tech, I sometimes watch things like this just out of curiosity and to keep up with what can go wrong, and the solutions.

I know exactly what you mean but the term or phrase "select number" makes me think - gee, these were special vehicles, only a select number were made this way!
Oh how the mind can make things appear as they aren't.

No, as in there was a bad run of seals. It happens.
Or a new guy on the line not knowing...

Or a hungover employee not paying attention...

Machines and people - what could possibly go wrong?

ok, so I just went and got my truck back....looks like they did a good job.
They said there was a nick in the input oil ring seal on the transfer case. Here's a copy of the repair order.

Mine has had the same leak however not as bad since I noticed about 3000 miles and I'm at 16,000. Guess I need to decide whether to let the dealer hacks work on it or just fix it myself......

Wow, that is extremely fortunate. All of my Jeeps leaked something at one point or another...or sometimes consistently. I am pretty hard on my rigs though.
