Thank you, I just ordered 4 of them… My back hurts from putting the big heavy rims and tires on...
I just ordered 2 of them.

Lots of talk about changing the pan for improved cooling. Has anyone talked about wrapping the exhaust pipe that runs directly under the pan with header wrap? What about completely rerouting that tube away from the pan? Why did Jeep put it there in the first place?

I think it has to do with the tuning and exhaust pressure pulse on the Pentastar. Both exhaust banks need to be of equal length to some degree before going into a single tube out. Right bank is relatively a straight shot back before the Y-Pipe but the left bank does not have the spacing to cross over before the transmission to mate to the Y-pipe. That is why the left bank exhaust has that short loop before the cross over.

TL;DR - by using an attachment to screw into the fill port, I was able to only have to do one fill procedure before draining out the excess.

I did this procedure today (changed fluid, and installed my PPE pan) and I used my new Vevor fluid extract/fill system to do so.

Firstly, loosening the exhaust wasn't fun, and getting my 3/4" impact into a position where it could get good purchase on those bolts took a lot of imagination and atachments.

Once I got that done and removed the pan, installing the new PPE pan was actually fairly straightforward (I bent the bejesus out of the exhaust to get it out of my way).

I got the Vevor attachment because hand pumping six quarts of tranny fluid isn't my idea of a good time. As a surprise bonus, that Vevor unit has a bunch of attachments, and one is/was the exact size to screw into the Gladiator's fill port.

By doing that, I was able to put 6 quarts into the Gladiator at the first fill (where most people are only able to get 3.5/4 quarts in on the initial fillup, and then need to cycle that fluid through the tranny before they're able to fill the second time). This has the benefit of ensuring that the tranny is fully lubricated from the gate, and the only thing I needed to do was to cycle through the gears a bunch of times to get the temp up to 86F+.

After I'd cycled through the gears a bunch, I took the Vevor attachment off, allowed excess to drain out of the fill port (call it 1/3 of a quart, so total fill was 5 and 2/3 quarts) , and reinstalled the fill plug.

Can you give us the part # or model # of the fill kit? How about a picture of that attachment also? Sounds a lot easier than what I did this past weekend. Thanks for the info.

Here's the link to the Vevor (I'm not Jeff Bezos and have no affiliation with either Amazon or Vevor):

And here's some pics - the attachment I used, the Vevor, and my deadblow hammer which doubled as an exhaust spacer and paid the price for it ;)

Happy to answer any other questions as it's still quite fresh in my head. One detail I didn't cover fully was that I was able to only loosen the exhaust on the passenger side (and didn't need to loosen the bolts on the driver side, which looked like a real nightmare).

The only concern I’d have is that with air supplied by compressor,
that air will have moisture as well. I went with this 7.5L hand pump unit and can put all 5.5 L in one go.

Finally got to it today. Changed the trans fluid and added the PPE pan. Thanks to everyone who offered advice. Went pretty smooth. Couldn't stand to leave the exhaust pipe unaddressed running right under the pan so I wrapped it with some exhaust wrap I had left over from another project. Haven't put enough miles on it to really draw a conclusion on any added benefit from the Exhaust wrap but will advise in a short time.
