Did your issue get resolved? if so, what did they end up doing and was it under warranty? I've had my JT for a little over two years and have just over 30,000 miles on it with no issues and about 3 weeks ago I experienced exactly what you did. Dealership checked for a software update and that was not the problem, then they came back and said they thought they needed to replace a bearing in my transmission. This was a week and a few days ago but the part has not come in yet. I was just hoping to hear someone else had the issue resolved with no further issues... Thank you for any info/advice etc!!
They ended up replacing the transmission. So far so good...but to be honest I am constantly afraid something will happen.....when you have to replace a whole transmission so early in miles it doesn't leave a very good level of trust. I have noticed it seems to be a little rough/loud when winding down in gears ...right toward the end when coming a stop.

You still driving it? Mine has done exactly what yours did. 40000 miles… kicks in 3 gear and occasionally not going in gear. Now check engine light. Going to the dealer tomorrow.

Mines doing this too. What did they say to you? Do you know if transmissions are available?

Welp..Same thing happened to me at about 41K miles on my 2021 JTR. I was experiencing slipping and jerking when the auto was shifting to 3rd and/or 4th. Other times it would get stuck in gear and wont shift. Other times I go in reverse and my car heavily jerks. I've even experienced the park-to-reverse issue, where I just get a flashing 'R' and wont move. Sometimes it catches if i roll it or give it a little gas.

The check engine light came on and took my car to the dealership, where they told me they had to drop the pan to check valve body. After 10 DAYS, they tell me the computer needed a flash update...10 days for that. Just got the car back yesterday and car still slips gears and sometimes wont go in reverse.

May need to bring back to dealer and have them continue their "Troubleshooting Process". Staying optimistic, but kind of tough when it feels like you're getting the run around.

You need a new transmission. Mine behaved identically when it needed a new one.

There is a new TSB out for this issue. Replace the D clutch assembly. I believe mine was probably one of the first few of these that was ever done. Basically rebuild. Was at the dealer for 6 weeks. They did give me a Ram 1500 loaner. Ive had it back now for a week and os shifting as new. Mine failed at 4 years and 45,000 miles.

I had a similar experience mine would shift hard between 3rd and 4th gear also reverse and sometimes would not go into reverse. Took to the dealer they said they feel what I’m talking about when they drive it but when they hook it up to their machine it does not past a “threshold” needed to submit to Jeep. What?!! Fast forward a few months and finally the check engine light came on. They had it 1 month said they had to tear down the transmission to check for a part inside. The part was there so they replaced the clutch assembly NOT the transmission. Felt fixed for 2 weeks then transmission completely failed on the freeway could not move the truck in any gear and transmission fluid leaked out burning on the exhaust. It is with the dealership now. Not sure what will happen yet. Fingers crossed… oh I’m at 48k miles. 😢

Sorry to hear. I have been curious as to how successful these rebuilds would be. My rebuild is doing well after 5 months and 5000 miles. It shifts better than ever and my gas mileage has actually improved a little. Sounds like the tech that worked on yours obviously did something wrong.

Same with mine…6 weeks in the shop.
JEEP put me off long enough that my Factory Drivetrain warranty expired 2 months before they would schedule me. @JeepCares

Fix was a bit under $1,700. Used extended warranty and had to pay $387 of the $1,700.

Looks like I am not alone with the trans issue . 6 weeks in the shop is BS. Add a cam job and it's a lemon law.

Update they replaced the transmission with a completely new one not a rebuilt one. I’m not sure the exact time it took to replace as I went on a 2 week vacation right after this and I also had them fix a separate issue, the corrosion issue on all 4 doors, hood and tailgate. The whole thing took ~5 weeks. Then I had it for 1 day as I was poking around under the truck just to see if anything looked out of place I noticed that the inside of my wheels were really clean except the rear passenger side and it was filthy! Turns out there is a known issue of the rear axle leaking on the passenger side! So I took it back right away and they are fixing this new issue under warranty. They were embarrassed they missed this and honestly I don’t know how they missed it. Pics are right vs left inside of tire. Ugh! I’m not sure what to do it’s one issue after another on this damn truck but I love it so much and I have so much fun in it. I know I will not enjoy another vehicle as much as this one if I get rid of it. I’m torn.

I am with you on this. How bad could a Bronco be?? The list of issues on my JT is getting longer than my desire to keep it.

I have been having transmission issues since day one of my new jeep. Really frustrating constantly bringing a new vehicle for repairs. The local dealership won't look at it because I didn't purchase it from them so, I have to go to a Faraway dealership. If I could return this thing I would. Not impressed with the quality of Jeep
