I just found it amusing that Trickster calls out my post as hi-jacking, when the first one to do so was redrider's post #13. And there were plenty thereafter, but he chose to call mine out.
I could certainly understand if the thread was still in process of getting questions answered, but the subject has already been answered and drifted from the original question anyhow.
I didn't know there was a rule that multiple discussions couldn't go on in a single thread.
Perhaps I missed that in the moderator rules?
Rules? There's rules?.... We don't need no stinking rules.

People tend to make excuses for their poor use of grammar. The internet has certainly exposed them. I cringe when I see it in memes and posts on the various social networks.
Even when I agree with the content, I simply refuse to share or repost anything that has poor grammar in it. To do so would be to promote and perpetuate its use.
Some call it lazy, but I'm leaning more towards poor education and the lack of understanding how to use the English language.

Its amazing that you have this point of view while using technology that is advanced by the generation you are insulting.

This generation is significantly smarter than the previous, even if our grammar is bad. The next generation is even smarter (joke, I know its 'more smart'). The kids/grandkids have potential through the roof.

So you keep harping on your English lessons and/or sex-labels. We will fix the world. You decide which is more important.

(PS - Dont forget that all the Greeks you made a living off of were fluid in sex roles and mostly illiterate)
Y’all may be smart, but you sure as hell ain’t close to the greatest generation. What you have in brains, you lack in balls.

exactly.

When I had my TJ and YJ I could take down the windshield and remove the upper bars connecting it to the rear roll bar. This gave you the experience of a truly open vehicle. I found out pretty quickly it was actually rather unpleasant but at least you had the experience. And I swear I'll throat punch the next asshole that says something about dogs sticking their head out the window. I've owned many motorcycles. Its a different kind of ride with different expectations and a different experience; and I live in a state where helmets are optional and I always wear one. Mainly because having your face beat up by the wind is exhausting after a while and a helmet helps reduce fatigue when doing longer rides. This probably why a lot of riders that do long rides without helmets have WINDSHIELDS on their damn bikes.

Now you're basically just taking the glass out and still surrounded by a cage. It's stupid and serves no real function other than to make you uncomfortable at any speed over 25mph.

It's a heritage feature that Jeep should just get rid of at point as it probably adds some level of cost to the vehicle, serves no purpose and over 90% of owners wont use it anyways.

People do it cause they can not because they honestly enjoy the experience and they aren't even getting the experience anyways.

Anyways I'm going to get a bunch of flaming for my take. Your opinion is wrong and I'm okay with that. Enjoy thinking you look cool or interesting with your windshield down. I prefer to be comfortable.

obviously those last few lines were purposely antagonistic and for fun but take it personally if you like. No seriously, enjoy your truck as you like; windshield up or down.
Just gonna say, while I haven't folded my windshield down yet on the Gladiator (I did once on the TJ though), that's exactly what non-jeep drivers say even about the removable doors. Or what fixed top drivers say about convertibles. I'd do it off road if I were somewhere I knew I wouldn't wind up getting soaked in a puddle though. Wouldn't do it on a public road, but mostly because I don't want that ticket. Otherwise, I'd do it up to about 30-35 mph on the regular. There are a couple guys around here in old CJs that perpetually drive around with it folded down, but they are allowed to because they are grandfathered in. I used to cycle (the pedal kind) and do time trials at those speeds, and it was no big deal, so neither would it be in the jeep. Now at 70mph on the highway... No way. I understand why most wouldn't do it. My wife never even takes the top or freedom panels off her Wrangler.

I take issue with your suggestion that my opinion is invalid by way of this person would say this about that.

Why?

Because it makes zero sense. I own the damn thing and as noted various previous iterations and know damn well the experience of each. Im not a hard top guy shitting on convertibles. Im a convertible guy saying this version of it is not as good as a previous one because.

How can you invalidate that?

Beyond that you open by admitting haven't even done the thing we're discussing. So again how on earth can you invalidate my experience when you yourself admit you haven't done it?

Similarly you're trying to suggest a completely different vehicle has informed the experience you haven't had in the Gladiator. Didn't I do that already by talking about the motorcycle experience being a different thing with different expectations?

But sure let's talk about TT bikes because that the same thing (sarcasm). I am an active triathlete and so I ride a TT bike often. While not identical to competing in a TT a tri race is very similar. The goal is to get as aero as you can and hold your watts efficiently. In a proper aero tuck you're hyper focused on the task at hand and know that discomfort is your friend because your lungs, legs and heart are on the edge of what is the absolute limit of what you can do. If it's not you're not doing it right. But sure thats the same as chillin in your Jeep with one arm out the window, listen to your jambs and relaxing.

Common dude. I see a lot of your post and a I quite like you but really?

Edit: Sorry that got hot. I'm like that. I assume your post wasn't intended to be inflammatory, I just have a habit of taking something and running with it. Also it seems like at the end there you kind of agree with me. I think it's really just that first part that got under my skin a bit.
