That I love. I probably wasn’t clear. I don’t have a wall of brand new hoarding parts. My garage looks very much like that, along with the crawl spaces for big stuff like bumpers. :)

This is just unbelievable.. crazy.... My next visit would be with the General Manager of your Dealership. I would give him a date to have these parts and oil available, or just tell him that you are returning it, and want full credit towards something that they have where the parts are available. This is the worst lack of support stories that I have ever heard..:(

our sister acura store has been out of 0w-16 for months. 0w-40 european spec oil is impossible to find in my area.

Ive heard its not delivery, that its they dont have the additives to make it whatever viscosity it needs to be. example 5w-30, 0w-40, 0w-20, etc etc. I dont know the science behind, just sharing information from my oil delivery company.

I just ordered ALL the diesel oil and fuel filters from every NAPA, Federated, Pep-Boys, Autozone, etc. and I did it on account so I saved 10%. I will be e-baying them with opening bid at 200% of original price. No quantity discounts!

In all seriousness, as a society we have become used to a land of plenty. Since WWII we have lived high on the hog. Get creative, ration, and don't waste.
Don't waste miles or time.
As for the actual oil changes, anything is better than nothing, so changing oil without filter, changing oil brand or even weight-within reason is better than doing nothing. Know what you are doing as a stop-gap and get back to proper maintenance as soon as possible. Not everything has to be perfect every time.

So if you do find supplies, and do your own oil/filter change how can you document it to the point that you won’t be voiding the warranty. Dealer told me to make sure any oil/filter changes were done where proper documentation was available.

Save your receipts, take pics (like the ones in my previous posts, clearly showing the MS spec), and log the service in your owners manual "notes" section or a ringbook. NOTE: the second picture is from the 15' Grand - PM "C" was completed 8/21 along with a transfer case control module R/R - this was the first malfunction of any kind on this unit).

Alright ShawdowsPapa, my I please order some oil and a filter for my future needs?
:{). Joking. Ha Ha.
When I realized that I could no longer find oil filters for a 1970 390 or a 1973 360 (both AMC engines) I converted my 360 to use the same filter my 4.0 uses - and bought several.
I think I will be doing similar for my JT. It's a gas 3.6 but still - filters are filters and even the Ford and Chevy guys are complaining about lack of filter availability.

Or for the electronically inclined - go to your Jeep account online and your garage, pick your vehicle and enter the maintenance there. It will show up along with dealer work.
When we traded my wife's 2018 Grand Cherokee for a new one for her, it was easy for the dealer we worked with to go in and see what all had been done with her Jeep and how well maintained it was. The trade was done on the internet.

For those electronically declined - the book is a good option or do both.

Went to order some cheap dino 15w40 couple of days ago for a client job and noted the local stores were pretty much out of everything.
Then I went to order some 15w40 from Amsoil and then filters for Jeep 4.0 and Duramax.....backordered......

Well might as well order a couple of filters and a couple of 5qt. jugs of oil. They can sit on the shelf just like all of my other filters until needed.
