I run an Equal-i-zer on my motorhome for my car trailer with my JK on it. Made a huge difference in towing and even helped in the MPG while towing.

18' Kaufman metal decked car trailer hauling my JK trail rig.

I have the BlueOx WDH with sway control.

Does a great job of controlling things. I get passed by a tractor/trailer, and it's steady as a rock. Handling is also like I'm not towing anything. She feels just as planted all hooked up as she does not towing anything.

I tow a 27' Vantage Sonic which weighs around 5,100 lbs (with all we want or need) and tow it with an Overland.

I measured once, the rear sag with the trailer connected. Before and after, without the WDH hooked up, sag was around 1 1/2 inches vs. no trailer. Hooked up the WDH part of the program and re-measured, the sag was only about 3/4 of an inch.

What is your tongue weight and what bars did you go with?

Second the Blue Ox Sway Pro, you can call Blue Ox, even the receptionist knew answers to bars and tongue weight. Basically you want to have bars heavier than your expected tongue weight but not the next one up, as the bent bars are the way the sway control works must have load on bars. My used one came with 1000 pound bars , and with my tongue weight of around 400 lbs., 500 pound bars work great.
Some systems work with friction to control sway, but my thought there is it starts out great but they wear over time and need to be adjusted….Jack

I have the equalizer 4 point wdh. This is by far the best wdh i have ever had. Does a great job towing. No sway at all. Highly recommend.
Good to know , yea the wind seems to be my only issue I have now, I have an older curt bar and chain , don’t help with that but levels good that’s why I am looking to upgrade

If you look at the science behind sway and what it really is or involves, it's believable that with no sway control vs. very good sway control you'd see a difference. Your tow vehicle works harder if the trailer sways, to put it simply.

I think the 1,000 lb bars. My tongue weight, stated from the manufacturer, is around 420 lbs but with everything in the front pass thru, and the weight of the hitch/WDH ball assembly, it's more like 550 lbs.

You are hauling something that heavy with that massive hitch/tongue weight?
5700 pounds and add anything you put in it or any accessories and you are way up there, and well above the hitch weight limit on a JT.

I do have the max tow, took it to the scales, fully ready to go, and all my weights are under… now, probably would be over if I had full tanks. I also live in Northern Indiana and most of my towing is a difference of 100 feet in elevation at most. Don’t know that it’d be much fun heading through the Rockies or anything…
