Glad to see the airport is open!
It's interesting that I've been so very happy with mine, I've actually considered trading for a newer JT. The size is perfect, it tows what I need it to tow, decent mpg for a Jeep, hauls what I need hauled, easy to park and maneuver in tight spots, I can't think of anything I really don't like about it (other than the manual seats which was resolved in 2024) - but then once the seats are set, I really don't mess with 'em much anyway (unless my wife drives it, then watch out)

It's a perfect sized small truck for my purposes, nimble, easy driving, turns sharp, etc. The front hitch makes it even better for getting my trailer around in really super tight spots where I park it.

Next month marks 5 years for me as a JT owner - the second is just as nice and reliable as the first was.

Well unless hell freezes over I'll be here with mine I seem to keep my stuff for as long as possible. Subject to its current state I might be pissed off with it some, but I don’t have any plans on dumping mine. But my Wrangler Unlimited might be used a lot more often now and motive me with my 91XJ and MJ. 🤔 Less electronic gremlin potentially.

@ZeeJay, no! I'll miss your diesel insights! :(
Sorry man, of course never had the diesel so didn’t spend much time on that forum.
Some professional insight and advice some you already know. Keep the oil clean, change fuel filter and air filter often. Clean fuel is important but keeping inlet restriction low on a common rail engine is just as important. Air filters can cause mad havoc on aftertreatment by irregular fuel burn from lower turbo inlet pressure to fatter fuel trim from less air. If you keep it long enough, accumulate enough miles and loose one NoX sensor CHANGE both, doesn’t matter if its inlet or outlet, just change both, also should you mechanically loose an injector at higher mileage do the other 5, if it’s an electrical issue with solenoid on injector just do the one. If one mechanically fails, assume they are all suspect. An injector can fail mechanically open or closed, open is far worse than closed. Open is like a beer bong into that cylinder. Applies to failures @ 200K plus mile engines for injectors and 150K plus for NoX. As for easy stuff, make a routine plan to load it up as heavy as you can, find some hills and just drive it like you hate it, aftertreatment loves to run hot and hard.

There’s a lot of people in the same boat. Problem is that I absolutely HATE my JT but love it at the same time. I tried trading a few time but between me dumping so much money into it and Jeep trade values tanking I’m pretty much married to it at this point. So I’ll just throw some more money at it and wait for Jeep to pull their heads from their asses and put a more powerful motor in them. That or wait until the kinks are worked out in the new Tacomas. 😉

It won't fix you're tow issue, sounds like your making the right call for sure. If your going to pull any amount of time, buy a real truck.
Long answer: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/talk-me-off-the-ledge….84370/

TLDR; literally anything in the mountain rich desert on 37’s and stock gears.

Slightly more TLDR; I’ve handicapped the JT more than I probably should have and can’t really pull anything at highway speeds. I could dump another couple thousand(like 5k probably) for an aux cooler, possibly a tune and appropriate gears… but I’m not 100% convinced it will fix the ability to tow while maintaining the unmatched wheeling ability. JT is a Swiss Army knife, but between financial considerations, a growing family, an older Power Wagon is in my future it seems.
