Is that what these were? (Kansas, after about an hour)
I carried a windshield cleaning sponge and a spray can of foam windshield cleaner that I'd let soak for a minute, then scrub things off. I went through almost that whole can of windshield bug spray on that trip.

Looked kinda the same. It was dusk when I went through them. Lasted only a couple cleanings of the headlights thank God as I was running out of water.

Washed it, removed the sandbags I use as plow ballast in the back, swept and vacuumed the sand out of the back (sandbags almost always leak some), and removed the tonneau cover latches I'd made as well as my home-brew rails along the inside of the bed (those were easy - torx drivers and a bunch of screws)
Have to start doing a few simple things to get it ready for trade-in.

DIY’d some headliners. I think I‘m $60 bucks in for everything? I still have yet to do the rear, but plenty of materials leftover for the rear and some side panels. It’s amazing what you can do when you have a 6 pack of beer and some motivation.

Edit: not sure why the pics are out of order but you get the gist.

Cleaned out the air filter and added a badge that just showed up on the porch. Two more spots left on passenger front. The tentative plan after that is the area behind the rear doors. Pictures of filter are before and after. It was dirty-ish, but spotless on the inside. Love this filter. No oil, good for 100k, and just blow out with a compressor occasionally.

I will admit I do not follow aftermarket air filter systems too much and you post was the first time I have paid attention to that PowerCore system and went down a pretty deep rabbit hole on it. Looks pretty impressive and seems to filter better than traditional OEM standard paper filter systems.

Did you run a oil guazed filter before this and if so, what differences did you notice in terms of intake noise?

@WILDHOBO hey Dan, is that a special housing/intake or do these filters fit in the stock location?

I haven’t looked at an oiled one in decades. One experience was enough for me. Corsa gives you three filter options for this air box. An oiled filter, no thanks for me. A dry high flow filter. And the power core. I started with their dry high flow and the sound at 4,000rpms was not to my liking. I called them to ask about it and they swapped me for the power core. They said people use them in the desert for military use and they just never fail. I’ve loved it. Much throatier sound, but not too loud to be annoying. It’s a good sound. But I didn’t do it for that. I wanted better air flow at my high elevation. Quite happy.

Some deep cleaning today, getting rid of the last Moab dirt from last October. New cabin air filter, and getting a few stuck palm branches out from under the Jeep after last Thursday 100 year flood in the RGV. The Harbor Freight foam cannon works really well and a steal at $35.

Sooo, do you always drag your filter behind your truck? That thing is amazingly dirty.

If you've ever been to Moab, drive 80+ miles of White Rim, it'll look like that. I changed it August before the trip.

Wow! I run mine a year at a time and they never show more than a couple pieces of leaf and a bit of dirt if you really look for it. (I am speaking from JKU experience though).
It has to be the intake area to make that kind of difference.

I have not changed the engine air filter yet, that's happening this Friday, but it's probably just as bad. The sand pit on Poison Spider didn't help things much either.
