The number of pistons doesn't matter, it's the force against each. PSI, pounds per square inch of pressure against xx square inches of piston surface is the amount of force against the pad.
The CoF and material of the pad matters, too.
I understand all that. I was just trying to point out that dual piston fronts and single piston rears were plenty on a 3/4 ton diesel.

Finished the install of my @Hooke RoadĀ® Cargo Divider.

Pro's; It works as advertised once installed. It looks good. Other than the first and sixth step of the installation, the directions were good---love the fact they actually include words with the pictures. My Bak4s roll up tonneau didn't have to be touched to install the Hooke Road divider. I believe most tonneaus will work fine and it's a typical cover your ass statement. It would be regretful if you have a tonneau system that didn't use or come below the factory rail system and forgo buying this.

Cons: Step one of the instructions are horrible as shown in a picture below. The step 6 photo is completely misleading as the factory rail system actually goes end to end from the front to the back of the bed--as seen in their photo of step one.

Looks good, right?

Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] 2 step 1

WTF does any of this mean? Where are the sliding mounting hooks that come with the factory trail rail system?

Step 1 should clearly state that the entire factory trail rail system needs to be removed in order to slide on the backing for the Hooke divider.

It should also state the option to remove one or both sliding cargo hooks. I elected to remove one from both sides so I would have a hook in front of and behind the Hooke Road divider plate.

Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] 3

In my case I also have something else on both sides of the truck that need to be taken off from the factory rail. The ratchet strap just needs to be taken off to allow the Hooke plate to be inserted.

Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] 4

In the case of my dual compressor there is also a plate in the rail the compressor attaches to. So this plate as well as the mounting hook had to come off and the Hooke plate inserted before putting the mounting hook on and then the compressor plate reinserted.

Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] 5 install pg 3 n 4

Again, the factory rail has to come off to insert the plate so the step 6 picture is completely misleading.

Finally installed with help of the wife unit. Impossible for a mostly one armed man to get the holes lined up even with the great adjustable bottom brackets that hold the divider up to the right height.

She had the brilliant idea to roll up a shop towel and wedge it behind the plates to keep them in place to screw in the side bracket t-knob bolts. Worked great on the Hooke Road divider.

Neither one of us could lift the dual compressor high enough for the other to get the bolts in---so being a tool guy I tried the crow bar but it wasn't wide enough to keep the compressor in place as soon as one of us tried to insert the bolt. So then I lay the crowbar sideways on the bed and added some tools on top but that didn't work either. She's says, "wait here" and then comes back with a stack of books and magazines to put it on until we found the exact right height. Love my woman---even if she was a squid.

Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] 6

As you can see I have a stock trail rail slidable hook on either side of the Hooke Road Divider

Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] 8

The other major thing I did to the Gladiator today was mount a zip tie to the air compressor to hold the tire inflator.

Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] 9

Then I went all out and mounted a second zip tie to hold the air blower! :handsinair:

Did an over due oil change, oil filter, and tire rotation. checked the brake pads, and looked things over. Tomorrow if the weather holds. I'll do the fuel filter, replace the main battery and do the aux battery delete. Plus sending out an oil sample to Blackstone.

I guess engineers aren't totally dumb, eh? LOL
My 70 had 4 pistons in each front caliper - the thing still didn't stop worth a darn.

I can't take credit for this - one of the nicest guys I've met came all the way from CO to help with the underside wire runs on my JT tonight. So now the cables are run all the way into the engine bay where I can properly terminate them and have power to the Anderson connector back there, aux connection to back up lights and USB charging ports in the bed.
That wildhobo guy stopped by and finished up after finding out I got actually physically sick laying under a vehicle and working.
My wife met him and her first comment to me after I came back in the house "he sure seems like a really nice guy" - yeah, he is - one of the best.

My wife had a bad fall today and her arm is possibly broken but we won't know more until tuesday when an orthopedic shoulder expert can see her - due to her handicap, she can't feed herself, get a drink, brush her teeth or even get dressed - her only good arm is in a sling.
Otherwise I'd have offered a spare room for the night. I forgot to ask if he would like a quilt to take back home with him - Barbara is trying to find homes for a couple and thin out the piles.......
Dan is most definitely a truly amazing individual!

You’re giving me too much credit. All I did was run a wire. Bill did all the hard work. Either way. More than happy to help. He had an oil pan from an amc v8 sitting there for me. Not necessary, but extremely appreciated. He knew mine was dented to hell. If anyone has any doubts about Bill’s expertise in this field, I can assure you they’re misplaced. He is his own alternator restoration shop. I kid you not. The number of tools he has made for specific repetitive tasks is super cool. And his kindness equals his expertise. I can’t wait for the next visit. He’s welcome at my house anytime.

Dan and Bill are good people and Dan driving from Co to help Bill is just how he is, and Dan going the extra mile inviting Bill up to his house is awesome, even if it just so happens when he needs an AMC expert to get everything out of his new motor. šŸ¤£šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜†šŸ˜‚!

You've helped me out over the years, too - like 3 years ago when I replaced the garage panel and installed the Level 2 charger -

The wildguy will be happy to know that although I'm having to rearrange my acrylic mounts a bit, the wiring run into the engine bay is working out fine. I had to stop as Barbara needed me in the house ASAP- but there's only 2 connections left to make.

Here's the ground from that bundle, terminated to the heavy 8mm ground stud where the batteries connect to the chassis - seems like a good spot to pull ground for a 50 amp circuit and keeps the path SHORT.

The white 14 gauge is terminated on the terminal block for aux #4 to run the Oracle backup lights independent of reverse if wanted.

The orange 14 gauge is terminated at aux #2 on the terminal block to power the USB in the bed and an eventual 12v outlet.

This white lead, part of the Bundle Dan helped with - goes to the diode behind the tail light.

This is the 50 amp connector which will eventually power my 2500 pound trailer winch -
The orange wire that is part of that bundle will handle the USB charging in this plate, and I'll install a 12v outlet in the plastic panel/cover on the left side of the bed someday.

It looks fantastic. I think I might have that same diode for mine. Under lots of shrink wrap.

Or one of the weird ones that wants to meet Internet people in person. Creepy. :)
One of the greatest (and most heartbreaking, in the end) relationships I ever had started 700 miles apart, online.

The internet has a way of changing lives, for better or worse.

Glad you and Bill could link up, thats some awesome stuff.

I met one of my moto riding buddies online. We tossed shit back and forth at each other for awhile. He had signed up for a dualsport ride and found out it was semi local to me. Asked if I was going, I hadn't heard of it, but ended up signing up for it also.
We met up and spent the weekend riding in a small group together. Became fast friends and have gotten together multiple times since then.
