But still had to go to the office, so I had an excuse to drive the Gladiator to work.

WTH? How? I thought TX didn't even know what snow was? We're here in KY having 70-degree weather earlier this week and some light rain today.

Up to 9" now and fixing to head out on a 60 mile round trip in it to take my daughter to work. The 35" KM3's really make a difference.

Only problem is that the slush froze my RockSlideEngineering steps closed.

So, how was your ride? Which tire and pressure? Outside temperature? I’m curious...

Next week, here we got -20°C (-4°F) with icy roads. Not so bad with standard 33" Rubicon Falken Wildpeak A/T 285/70R17 down to 32 PSI except we had to be really cautious when it was time to brake on ice.

Ride was great, running BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM3, 40 psi, normal operating pressure is 60 psi, outside temperature was between 20 and 25 degrees. lots of area's of ice. Handled very well and only slipped a couple of times that I got up over 50 mph. Averaged about 30mph so about 2 hrs. Couple of things I learned is that the defroster does not heat the windshield at the upper outside corners very well, ice would build up and in order to get it to melt had to turn the temp up which is too hot in the face. My JKU doesn't have this problem, been a while since I drove the TJ in winter so don't really remember it having that problem either. The wipers are also a problem, they are way too hard at the low temps they wouldn't flip back and forth so they just skidded back across the windshield only cleaning in one direction. I will change those tomorrow.

Heading there the end of this year and really looking forward to the trip.
Great video.
if you go, get your badge then before you leave take the Old Ore Road, it is much better and takes some time to drive. And the none maintained roads in the Texas park are not bad, we have lots of fun just trying to fine the trails there, they are more tracks in the grass than roads.

share what wipers you get. Seems like a small thing but I hate when the wipers skip skip skip across the windshield.

How did you get out? Winch?

In the backseat, I carry hip waders that slip over my boots in case I do the same thing.
I didn't currently still stuck. My winch is sitting in the box it came in waiting for install for the last two months. My buddy came by with his 4Runner today and it also got stuck and we had to pull it out with come-alongs and chains. Currently I am doing that to get this out, but it is really stuck in there, going to take a lot of work on the chains.

Gotta lose those road slicks if ya wanna play in the muck
Yep I made the mistake of thinking the rubicon AT tires would be a little better, lol.

yard? smile
Yes yard, it was raining with no adult supervision around. The encouragement from my 8 year old made it seem like a good idea. Record rain fall, schools close, seemed like thee perfect time to go a little crazy....
