She didnt make it. Infection in her blood stream. But she was 13.5 Australian Sheppard so she lived a full life. Its been a long day(woke up at 1am to her whining and wincing). Waited until after Scouts to let my little guy know what had happened. Hit him pretty hard. Shes in a better place. She struggled with mobility the last few years(pretty bad arthritic hips).
I’m so sorry. That’s really hard. You made the right call in my opinion. When their quality of life is gone, they’re just suffering for our benefit. Since they can’t tell us what they want, we need to be their advocates. Again. Very sorry for you and your family.

Took a trip to Tennessee/Kentucky to attend Overland the Red and spend a couple nights at Elkmont Campground in the Great Smoky Mountains. My Jeep got its chance at “First Dirt” by tackling Spaas Creek, Pumpkin Hollow, and Fixer Leeco. Was also able to drive Parsons Branch road that exits from the southwest corner of Cades Cave in the Smokies. That was a relatively simple trail that leads out to a portion of US-129(Tail of the Dragon).

Sorry Trent. You're right, it was time and it sounds like she had a great life. My best to you and your family.

Every night was grea except for Saturday night. That day temps reached the 80’s, and the temps really didn’t seem to drop fast enough throughout the night. Sunday morning saw the front push in some heavy rain and winds to the area as we drove to Elkmont. Temps dropped quick by the mid-afternoon after the rains had gone.

Totally get it. Yawnie died in my arms at the vet's, the days before, he had done everything he could to stay near me, my clothes or anything with my scent. He slept on any clothes I left on the floor. He was totally attached to me. It's tough.

My understanding of dogs is that 13 years isn't a bad life - and living that short life with a friend, that's better than many get.

How do you like your Flyer? We are between a Flyer Pursue or an Encore ROG 12RK.

I have the Flyer Chase which is the smallest of their line and I have never had any issues with it. Being shorter than the Pursue, it does not have the slide our kitchen/12v fridge, and you can only option it with the Dometic A/C or a the 12v fan. I would have liked the Pursue just for the extra features I mentioned, but I was trying to stay below $15,000 for my purchase. Only other negative other than the lack of kitchen and not being able to have a fan and a/c is there is only one door on the passenger side. The drivers side has the spare mounted. While the back opens up like an ambulance, I use that more for taking camping stuff in and out rather than accessing the trailer to sleep.

Mods I have done:
Moved the battery from the tongue box into the storage cabinet and replaced it with a LiTime 100ah Lifepo4. Added a BougeRV 200W Tops on Bifacial panel connected to a Victron Bluetooth Solar charge controller to keep the battery topped up when off shore power.

Replaced the OVS awning with a TopOak 270 Awning that opens up to the rear and covers over the rear door. Used it for the first time on this trip and it was fantastic. Also added an OVS Shower awning to the drivers side with some brackets I picked up from Intech.

For the cool factor I added some Diode Dynamic Rock Lights with the amber cover to light up the area below the trailer.

Yesterday, used tie trailer to pickup a new subcompact tractor. But when I unloaded it this morning to do a ton of scheduled work in the yard, found tons of problems. It’s been hit (broken taillight and fender damage), a hydraulics issue of some kind reducing its lifting power, and tons of cosmetic problems. The dealer is picking it up on Monday. Resolution TBD. Either a refund or a complete replacement directly from the factory.

Ah man that sucks. Sounds a little shady of the dealership.
