Yep. This is a current trend. People are going so far as to install cameras with decent sized screens so they can actually see the road just so they can drive with their nose in the sky. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
Please keep this current trend in SoCal. LOL

When I first saw that "front elevated vehicles prohibited" sign, I thought it a joke, because who would have that ?? Then the old man in me relented and said, "Probably somebody....", I could see that, but only on a street low rider and not on the beach. I guess they had to come up with that law because someone could theoretically run someone over on the beach being front view is basically null...

There are a few trucks around my neck of the woods like that. I think it looks stupid. To each his own I guess šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
Yep. As a kid, I remember when Bigfoot first came out. I remember saying, "That looks so stupid !!" and getting ridiculed. Not long after, many Ford 250's were raised with homemade lift kits (some were blocks of wood between body and frame, I kid you not), bigger tires but not Bigfoot big. Then tickets started flowing because the NY bumper height laws were being violated. Solution ? Weld some sections of I-beam on the frame pointing down and put a section of heavy-ass train rail between. Seriously. Looked like garbage, but it kept coming. I was never into monster trucks or really, really big tires; why make your vehicle look like a child's toy ? One guy in my neighborhood actually had a rope ladder he deployed while getting in and out of his truck. He'd reach under his truck, untie the ladder, climb the ladder, open the door, climb down the ladder, swing the door open, then reclimb the ladder, get inside then pull the ladder into the cab. Stupid.

Like you said; to each his own.

Drove out to a couple state parks within an hour or so from home this weekend to scope out campsites for future outings, ended up taking a couple nice pics - have had this new-to-me '24 JTR for about a month, really enjoying it as a replacement for my '10 JKUR.

Until they are a hazard on the roads from them or not adjusting headlights.

2nd camping trip of the season with Wifey, nice quiet weekend at Fall River State Park, about an hour east of Wichita. Highly recommend the Fredonia Bay campground, very nice. Heading home later this afternoon.

Is that a stock steering wheel ? That "nickelodeon slime" padding on top is interesting. How is it ? I know if it was on mine, I'd be picking at it as I drive, the glue holding it wouldn't stand a chance... :)

Funny, I just posted in another thread about my steering wheel ā€œgripsā€. Yes it’s a stock steering wheel but I wanted to get a cover / grips as it was a tad skinny for my hands.

Looked at covers and separate grips. Decided on grips so I could still get some heat from the wheel on the cold days, which I do. The heat works fine for me.

The grips have cut-outs so they can go on either side of the wheel around the controls but I preferred mine top and bottom instead.

Honestly I didn’t expect much and was figuring I’d try them, hate them and ditch them at Goodwill or Value Village for somebody else to try. But . . . . I actually love them. šŸ˜‚

They add girth to the stock steering wheel which feels much better when I have my hand around it. In addition they go on really tight and are made of a super grippy (technical term) material that feels good on my skin. Lastly the slight bumps and ridges on the grip are a good hand feel for me as well.

So yeah, very pleased with them after all and they are keepers for me. This is the brown version, I got the green ones.

Sorry, forgot. Actually got them off of Temu which is one of the reasons I had low expectations. But hey, you never know sometimes.

Here is the link, looks like the green is unavailable for now.

https://share.temu.com/XZBhOmTzn6C

But you could probably find the same / similar ones on there in other colors if you wanted.
