Drove out to a couple state parks within an hour or so from home this weekend to scope out campsites for future outings, ended up taking a couple nice pics - have had this new-to-me '24 JTR for about a month, really enjoying it as a replacement for my '10 JKUR.

Drove it to Kohl’s to buy an interview outfit. I’ve been rockin jeans and t shirts for 7 years but it’s time I picked up a part time soul sucker for a while. I’ve reached the point where cost of living allowance increase isn’t touching cost of living anymore. C’est la Vie

Truck stuff would be an understatement. Hooked up the enclosed trailer, since that’s what I own. Picked up three 77 gallon containers. I’m guessing each is rated for 200lbs or so. Went to the materials place and put a third of a cubic yard of pea gravel into each of them. Probably 800-1000 pounds in each of them. Winched them into the trailer. Drove slow as hell on the way up the mountain to get home. Dragged the things out with a chain and the little tractor. Then opened a cider or 4. I’m amazed that the containers didn’t split open. But it was my best idea to not put a yard of gravel on the floor of a 14” trailer. Definitely ranks as the weirdest way I’ve ever hauled a cubic yard of any damn thing.

Finally picked up the last two cabinets for my garage then drove three plus hours through the monsoon rain to get them home. A combination of plastic wrap, packing blankets, and a large piece of 6 mil plastic sheet managed to get them home just fine. Now I have to put them together as a unit but that’s going to wait until next weekend.

22JTRD with a DiamondBack SE tonneau cover and some recovery gear, plus a little firewood. Aftermarket steel front bumper with Warn winch with steel cable. Plus 280 pounds for me and the dog.
This scale weighs in increments of 50 pounds.

I’m hoping this was because you couldn’t get it delivered. :) Super creative though.
Yep. No one will deliver up the mountain. They all claim it’s too hard on their trucks. I say their drivers are too hard on them, since they likely don’t know how to shift. Used up a 1/3 of a yard today. Got 19 posts dug and set. So tired. Started finding some pretty tough ground.

Last time I weighed mine it was in that ballpark. Makes them sluggish, but still great trucks.

Mine is the diesel, so it starts out heavier. Still will spin the tires, 315/70r17.
I haven't added near as much as you, not yet anyways.

I definitely can’t spin tires. 😂 But not surprising with 37’s. Altitude makes a monster difference as well. When I drop down, power comes back a fair amount.

I live at 650 ft and spend the majority of my time below 4000ft. Occasionally I go upto 6000ft. But hardly ever higher than that, unless headed way out of my area.
Plus having the diesel, mine is turboed. Which would help at elevation.

I do the same with mushroom compost. It’s free if I shovel myself but about $1k for a truckload delivered. I just take 5 gallon buckets to fill then dump into the bins. That way I only have to manhandle those once getting them out. Makes good mulch for gardens and trees and such.

Same on the mountain stuff. Mine is only 2k’ over about 7 miles but I’ve seen a few trucks dead and smoking before. Not sure why. I towed my tractor up to the house on a trailer in a Transit van so it’s doable.

For the tough ground see if you can find or make a caliche bar. Helps break it up quick.
