My digital speed readout is what I go by.....yep, it's off by 1mph.
Time to double-check the settings using a dedicated GPS and/or a phone app and compare odometer readings of truck to another device over a trip of several miles.

When I first got JScan, I went with a relatively inexpensive OBDII adapter, which limited JScan's abilities. Later I upgraded to the OBDLink MX+. Not only did that open up JScan, but it made over a thousand PIDs available. I haven't played much with the PIDs, but it certainly looks like you can monitor (and maybe control?) a whole bunch of things!

I have enabled auto dim high beam with JSCAN, what question(s) do you have?
How does this work? The high beams turn on and off automatically? Do you have to have a certain option on the Jeep to be able to make this work?

@ShadowsPapa enabled it on his Overland using AlfaOBD. There is a thread in the DIY section. You need the ACC/FCW package. It uses the camera in the radar pod to detect the oncoming traffic. At the time he enabled it, Jscan didn't have the capability to trigger all the required options. Maybe someone will post the steps necessary to enable it with Jscan.

I’m a little behind on YouTube. My newest “pro tip” is playback speed. I change it to maybe 1.5-1.75. Strange at first but I get used to it. I then play normal when I don’t want to miss what they are saying or I’m calling instructions.

1.75 etc is great for the “should you regear” or “should you get 37s” videos where people ramble on for 18 minutes.
This is a great trick. I've been doing it for years.

Its also great for watching the State of the Union address the next day. POTUS is coached to speak slowly and pause for applause. The right arrow skips ahead 5 seconds. Between skipping the applause and running it at 1.75x, I can get through a 60 minute state of the union in under 15 minutes.

I liked your "steering wander/pitman nut" video as it was short, sweet, to the point - and a very good shot of the pitman nut itself with you showing clearly how bloody dangerously loose it was.

THAT is the sort of video I will actually watch. Give me the facts in the first minutes. I have very severe ADHD so while I ramble on myself, but any video had better get to the point quickly or I'm gone - my attention lasts only SECONDS in some cases, and as was pointed out in a seminar at work one weekend, someone explaining something to me needs to skip to the bottom line in the first couple of sentences.

(A movie had better have non-stop action or I'm outta there - I've watched each of the Chris Pine Star Trek movies multiple times because they are action beginning to end)
Would you mind posting a link to that vid?
Thanks,

Don

Like Mr_Bill said, you have to have ACC/FCW (adaptive cruise control/Forward collision warning)
After about December 2019 the auto high beam was part of another package, prior to that it wasn't even available as an option but the "parts" were still there hardware-wise.
Mine was November 2019 build so I could enable it but the sales code could not be added to my VIN because it was never an option for my truck being a November build.
It still works great but if they flash it for an update, I'll have to put the settings back in.

Here's the stuff to set or configure -

* VehConfig 1: Auto High beam- YES
* 2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat: Auto High Beam Module Location- IRCM (I had to use AlfaOBD for this setting, because this location was not there in Jscan when I did it. I understand it has since been added to jscan. )
* 2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat: Auto High Beam On Threshold- 25 km/h
* 2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat: Auto High Beam Off Threshold- 20 km/h
* CustSetMenu 1: Auto High Beam CSM Present- YES (this puts it in the radio settings/options so you can enable or disable it via option choice in radio)

You have to have the headlight switch in AUTO position, and the high beams turned on to set it to work. If you want to stop it from working you can change the settings in the radio, or turn the headlight switch to ON instead of AUTO

Mine works perfectly. Granted around here some crazy bright yard lights set it off (people with big 1,000,000 lumen yard lights on their acreage or farm or where their lights shine more on the road than their yard)

@tysongladiator posted this very clear video on something to check.
Even if it's not "loose" like his example (which was just plain scary and even dangerous) it would pay to check with a BFW or BFS (big f.......... wrench, etc.) because it might not be THAT loose, but still not properly tight.

This should go directly to Tyson's post/video.

Thanks. Quick and to the point.

Just out of curiosity. Do you think using a crows foot (at 90 deg so as not to change the torque) on your torque wrench rather than a socket would allow you to fit it in without removing other parts?

Actually, that might be a good idea. It might work. The only issue with that is not using a socket and not having the option of the extra 1" from the length of the socket, there may not be enough room to move the torque wrench back and forth. There would only be about 1-2" between the pitman arm and track bar mount to work with. But... You may be able to jack it up high enough to and give you more room. It might be worth a shot.

One correction for this; you do not have to set the on and off thresholds, if you leave them as the default (0 or no value) they still work. On my 2021 those values are 0 from the factory. When I set the other half's 80th edition I left those values blank/0 and it works the same as mine.

It was set to those values from the factory on mine. I didn't change them. Those are the default factory and recommended settings.
I suspect yours controls the high beams in town, at intersections and so on instead of dropping to low beam in town, stop signs/stop lights, etc.

Anyway, those are the settings I got from a Jeep programmer person, and what mine actually came with from the factory (even though it wasn't enabled - likely they were prepping it for the December release of that feature)
