Here is a new one ( I think.)
Like most of you I’m guessing, you found this forum through google. I bought the truck and wanted to lift it, so googled for info. This site came up first…big mistake. Long story short, once upon a time I had a gladiator and a $3000 wish list.

Things I wanted to do before this site:
1: small sensible lift
2: larger tires
3: front bumper
4: side steps

things this forum has cost me:
1: voswitch
2: intake
3: tonneau
4: more lighting
5: front lower control arms
6: rear track bar relocation bracket
7: front lower track bar
8: four new shocks
9: a different lift (after 5 weeks)
10: rokbloxz

things this forum will cost me
In the next few weeks/months
1: limitless rear badge
2: Mojave orange trim jeep logo fender badges
3: exhaust
4: 4.56 gearing
5: sunrider
6: hot heads liner
7: rear bumper LED
8: oracle rear brake lights
9: that expensive clear freedom top panel thing

things it hasn’t cost me yet:
1: marriage

Forum has not cost me anything. Now, what it has saved me is a few thousands...

Rubicon Rails for $100 instead of >$1k for aftermarket sliders
Rubi Take off suspension and Daystar level lift $200 instead of $2k for all out lift kit
Mojave wheels (5) $400 instead of $1600 for new aftermarket

I'm sure more will be saved as I continue the budget build.

This forum has cost me about ~$50k in between the Gladiator itself and mods. I was planning to trade in my truck for a Bronco when they became available. Now its a gladiator.

This is great. Unfortunately I’m geographically incompatible with most here being in northern New England. Most everything would be a 6+ hour drive or more to ship than it cost me.

Great post idea. Glad to see it hasn't cost you the marriage.

Haven't even ordered the damn thing and I've been buying small stuff for months. Need to go add it all up.

I don't want to do the math ... though my wife has asked me to do so. Which may be a good thing, since I was able to get $7.5K off of sticker (purchased my JTR on August 31st), she's been sort of expecting that I've spent that savings back to sticker. I don't think I've done that much spending... but tonneau, tint, bedliner, steps, Hot Heads, Rockbloks, bumper, winch, plus miscellaneous interior giblets are at least about 3K ish. Need to get time and get onto some trails to be more wise with further mods ... but not sure if there is a statue of limitations on "spending back to sticker price" - ha!

Outside of the parts I never knew I wanted let alone needed. I would say the forum has cost me some of the optimism I originally had when I said hell yeah a Gladiator!
I still am excited every time I sit behind the wheel but reading so many stories about issues and concerns so many people have, and are having, I tend to brag less than I did a year ago.
I wouldn't change my mind about pulling the trigger on mine but I do overthink EVERYTHING much more.
