I wouldnt say a word. Extra warranty for you so that when you go to the dealer you can just say you were towing something that weighed 8,000lbs......"cause thats what it said online" hahahaha

I just purchased my Jeep and it says max tow is 8110 lbs when properly equipped. I thought it was 7650 lbs for all max tows.

I have been seeing on the fb pages where people are getting cards from Jeep "updating" the towing info to exceed 8k. Anyone get something like that?

My Overland shows on mopar.com 6335 and I believe it was advertised at 6000.
Overland here as well. Until or unless someone comes at me with a NEW sticker that supersedes the original, I'm ignoring the numbers on the web as the advertised max is 6,000 until officially changed.
My Overland would puke trying to pull 6,000 pounds with the gear ratio it came with.
It can't keep up with my empty trailer at 1600 - how could it handle almost 5,000 pounds more?

It's a great truck, a blast to drive, the fit of the panels and doors is top-notch, it's comfortable, great ride, all that, but the transmission constantly flipping gears is annoying as heck. It doesn't stay in a given gear for more than a few seconds when on the highway - even a highway with only mild hills and no trailer behind it. I wish it had a true trailer towing mode and locked the higher gears out in that mode. At least with my Ford and Chevy trucks, I could push a button and totally change how the truck behaved, especially shifting. IT even changed the turn signal flashes from 3 to 5 in those trucks.

My bet is that with the 6331 pounds behind it that logging in shows for mine - it would never leave 4th gear.
That web number has to be a total joke.
And legally, I'm still obligated to the STICKER numbers should anything less than good happen.

I was going to trailer my wife's 2018 Grand Cherokee up to Spirit lake and trailer her new 2021 GC back for kicks - she doesn't want the 225 miles on it bringing it home. But when I see that beast weighs in at 4700 pounds and my trailer is 1600 pounds with the spare and tool box - that's 6300 pounds!! Figure tongue weight of 630 pounds, and us in the JT - we're up there close to max payload, too. WOW and ouch.

I hear you and I don’t plan on doing it. I honestly don’t plan on towing anything of substance, that is what I have my Ram 1500 for. I was just noting they made a change on my molar account. Shoot, in general I think the JT is too light of a truck to pull anything near 6000 pounds let alone more. I personally wouldn’t want a 6000 pound trailer “pushing” my truck downhill...

This is almost exactly what I got from the mopar website. Wild...im more upset about the payload being lower than anything.
