I need to wire in a relay to turn off the license plate lights in reverse. The lights do seem to "wash out" the picture to me, but I have never gotten around to doing anything about it. Being retired means I can't claim lack of time anymore, so I just have to claim plain old laziness as my excuse.

Glare at night on the backup cam when in reverse. It's not a problem on my 2025. They've changed something. In fact, the camera display is more like our grand Cherokee were and not like my 2020 or 22 JT camera. I think they have resolved the glare
Now that you mention it, does seem to a bit less on my 2025 than my past years JT's. Then again, I have not done a lot of night time backing up so far. I do not rule doing a reverse blanking on them anyways.

Best way is to install a manual transmission.

Plus it's more fun if you like driving, especially after regear.

That would be a nightmare job wouldn't it . Not to mention the PCM re-mapping etc.. I cant imagine that taking a day or 2 . The pressure plate ,pedal, slave and master cylinder the different cross braces oh my big job there .

Practically nobody does it on a late model vehicle. Would pretty much need a salvage donor to do it.

With PCM included the throttle curves are definitely different from the auto

Hopefully I don't derail this thread, but I'm curious why so many people want to disable the plate lights on reverse? I don't think I ever gave it much thought.
I never noticed they were a problem…. 🤷‍♀️. But then again… we installed Oracle reverse lights. Those things are BRIGHT as hell (and we love ‘em).
Soooo….I just don’t notice the license plate lights. 😉

I've noticed there seems to be 2 different stop/start eliminator devices out there....one has basically 2 connectors and plugs behind the controls that sit just below the screen.... And the other has 3 connectors and goes in under the steering wheel area.....

I have the audio package with my Gladiator.... Does that have to do with anything?

I assume the one that plugs in under the radio area, behind the knobs and buttons, would be the type that senses when the ignition is one and counts down and then sends a signal that says someone pressed the button.
That's the sort I would choose, not something that connects to the OBD II connector area.

Or to save $50, just push the button each time you start the Jeep....
The $300 does much more for me than just turning off the Start/Stop feature.

I opt to press the button if needed.
I don't have a need or desire for anything a tazer does, never have.
So that 300 would do nothing I need.
