...and too many Notes, Cautions, and Warnings!

Kevin
Warning - coffee may be hot.
Warning - eating the dash components may cause cancer (but only in CA)
Warning - if you get out when the truck is moving - you could get hurt

The problem is, the new America -people really do need those warnings.

Too bad, Darwin's laws have been revoked.

I actually enjoy reading owners' manuals. Some recent thread posts have me wondering if they stopped providing owners manuals or some people just don't bother reading them.

So who does, and who does not read their owner's manual and why?
Not just the owners manual but the Factory Service Manual as well

I read most of it the first few days I owned it, mainly for the i port at technical information. I admit I skipped the part on the seats so I did not realize the back seat back could be locked with the key.

There's one available for the JT?

Kevin
I'd love to get my hands on a JT TSM (Technical Service Manual is what we've always called them - AMC used that term in the 60s)
I have a TSM for most of the cars I've owned, some here (mingled with some old college books - also have a few TSMs in my shop)
Some the binding literally wore out so I had to transfer the pages into binders.
Looks like I left my 73 TSM out in the shop with my car.
The one for the 94 ZJ is a massive amount of info so I can imagine with the 2020 version would be like. I used it for wiring specifics and the PCM and PDC pin-outs when putting the Jeep engine in my car.

Anyway, if I could get a TSM (or perhaps it's a set of books) for the JT - that would be too cool.

I read mine. Day one. And refer back to it as needed.

But I'm a little crazy and I don't recommend anyone pay much attention to me.

Manufactures would like to get rid of the manuals to save money. A few years back I replaced the GPS/ depth finder on my boat, came with a CD not a manual I called the customer service line and was told the CD would serve all my needs. I ask how it would help me 10 miles offshore and they sent me the manual.

I too prefer books, but the only option is digital. And it isnt bad. I printed half of it, about several thousands of pages. The rest were over 10,000 pages (my estimate) of resolving error codes and following electrical problems

I went through mine before taking ownership. I've never been afraid to RTFM, and actually do somewhat enjoy doing. Certainly I skip parts that do not relate (warning BS, automatic transmission BS, etc..).
I think it's a good thing to at least go through when spending this amount of money. Not to say I won't forget something and ask a question here that is already answered.....
