IMO Jeep made a lot of noise concerning their addition of the US flag being fist on US-sold ‘23 Gladiators. When the images started to show the update, most people couldn’t see where Jeep placed the flag.

Jeep Gladiator Why all the Hype? (US Flag on Name Plate) 140DCCBB-708E-4423-9E13-2371FD21455C

In the end, it’s barely noticeable. Why tout such a minor modification if it’s so minuscule? I’m guessing marketing.

I’m curious, what other’s think of the hype and end execution?

(I’m really not interested in the “who cares” and “what do you care what other people think” comments, feel free to save thfor trolling other threads)

Lol this isn’t a trolling thread in itself? If anyone says anything negative they are going to be seen as anti-America, if they are for it, well… you get it.

I don’t even think it is so much Jeep making a big deal about it as much as the auto blogs using it for click bait.

Yeah, I see your point, but my intention is sincere and not for trolling. I'm just curious as to why Jeep felt the need to add the flag to the Gladiator and then why the auto blogs even mentioned it. I'd not even considered "click bate", but that makes sense.

Personally, I consider myself a patriot. I severed 22 yrs in the Armed Forces, retired honorably, and I'm still prepared to give my life to defend my national liberty and to prevent domestic tyranny. All that being said, I don't feel the need to display anything related to my service or express my national pride...or any other group I'm affiliated with. I tend to be a very reserved person, it just seems immature and juvenile to display such things...again, this is my opinion. I also believe that everyone else is free to express themselves as they see fit.

As to your comment...

That's always frustrated me. I've gotten slack for my unwillingness to display service oriented stickers. I been told I have "no pride in my service" and "why don't you display the flag on your house"; (1) I despise group think. (2) My actual service speaks for itself, I believe in DOING, not just displaying. (3) I don't care for the unwanted attention. (4) I just don't feel like it.

I think it’s a nice addition and definitely better than every GM vehicle with the tacky square GM badge.

Is it worth $2k…no, but at least you got something to show for it.

I'm with you, and I think the world would be a much better place if more people were like you. I'm not a religious person in the slightest, but I will admit that I've always appreciated this verse:

Matthew 6:5, NIV: And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
The point being, if you're going to do something good, do it because the right thing to do, not to go tell everyone else what a good person you are.

Like those "Who rescued who?" stickers. Gag me. Aside from being a perfect example of the self-aggrandizing attitude I dislike, it's grammatically incorrect (Who rescued whom?), and pretentious... Unless your dog was on death row, you didn't rescue it - you adopted it. Take it down a notch.

Yeah…I feel no need to apologize for not turning my residence into a place where folks arrive and immediately receive a “freedom boner.”

As for why they did it…I’m sure there are non-serving fair-weather patriots that are gonna crank down when they see the flag there. Add to that the “I talked to a recruiter in high school” and “I went to MEPS one time” crowd, lol.

I thought the flag was going to like the larger one that comes on the Freedom edition model that is over the "Jeep" fender badging.

Than tiny one on the end of the Gladiator badging is somewhat trivial in size.

Certainly, a welcome addition as far as I am concerned. I'm not going to over think it.

Does the flag even face the right direction of n both sides? Is the field of stars toward the front of the vehicle on the respective side (like the flag is streaming to the rear, rushing into battle? Haven’t had eyes on this yet.
