If this was a general chat forum, then it might be a bit of a brag to do it, but given that this is a Jeep Gladiator forum and the vast majority of participants own one variant or another, then it seems logical to fine-tune to the readers what package we have. It can be relevant to our point of view.
Leave your 'package' out of this.

I don't know why but when people say they have a Jeep Rubicon, Jeep Sahara or Jeep Mojave it drives me crazy it's the trim level not the Model. Anyone else feel this way?
Always!!!! It also bothers me when they name their color.

Maybe not TOL... but most capable off the lot.
Most capable what?
At towing, nope - Max Toe
Off road, nope - 2 door has it beat by a mile
As a truck, nope - anything with an 8' bed is tons better
Need I go on?
I call it my 80% truck. It does everything 80% as good as something else.

But I do love my Graphite Rubicon. :CWL:

Yeah, I hear you. Just when I think the "what next" just happened, something even more mind boggling begins... seems to be a real shit show lately.

I was a big drinker in my active Military days... since retirement I rarely drink... so when I do, its definitely not anything Anheuser-Busch. If I want purely domestic, I like Yuengling.
Fortunately, I have had the pleasure of living in many countries, so I have had Japanese, Korean, Thai, Philippine and many more types of beers first hand.
But to the Korean, they have upped their game in the last few years. A couple mainstream beers are: cass, hite, kloud... but they make some good crafts as well, like: gompyo, hanok village and jin lager.
When your exhaust, feeling the pride of completing a job well done and its a beautiful day out... I doubt any beer is a bad one... cheers !
Michael, thank you for your service!

I spent some time in Seoul (not military), it always made me laugh when people paid premium prices for crappy domestic beer. Their local was fine or better, even 25 years ago. Now, soju is fun...
I am now in central Pa., we just call Yuengling 'lager'. It needs no other description.

Maybe they are taking a page out of the politicians playbook, keep the masses fighting with each other over stupid things so they don't notice all the big piles of crap being dumped on them. Jeep does put special labels on the hood of the Rubicon and the Mojave, and a badge on the tailgate of the Overland. I don't know about the others, but Sport gets nothing special. They are purposely creating a distinction between the variations. Wouldn't you want to point it out if your Jeep has the special markings to make it stand out from the others?

Wow, you put a lot of thought into this... but
I've never seen a two door Gladiator or a Gladiator with an eight foot bed... we were talking Gladiators and trim levels... right ? Anyway, it was more of a thought, than me actually stating facts.

Thank you very much. Oh the days of Soju and Habu Saki...
I really like Yuengling/lager... I think they are really underrated. Most people have no idea that they are America's oldest brewery.

Looking
I prefer to say, "I'm getting a Jeep" but then people always ask "Wrangler or...? Color? Hard or soft top? AT or MT? Color match or black fenders and top? Leather? Cold weather package?"

So frankly, I think I'm going to start saying, "I'm getting '23 JTMHBHTATBFBTCSCWAUXLEDTRTP" to cut to the chase. And give me the strength if I have to explain that the CS "cloth seats" in an M "Mojave" obviously includes extra bolstering, and doesn't require an extra EB designation to paint a clear picture.

Funny, mine just say Jeep on the registration. Michigan doesn't even distingiush between a Wrangler or a Gladiator
So it's not just me with MI titles being incorrectly descript. I don't have the Glad yet to know what it will say, but my Explorer Sport Trac title says Explorer (a totally different model), and the old vette title just says Chevrolet with model blank. When I had a bike they decided to call it a Suzuki (it wasn't) requiring me to need to get a new title. I'm surprised they don't just shorten it to number of wheels and color.

Is the Rubi still "top of the line" if it isn't the most expensive trim level anymore? ?
Yes. While their base price is less than the High Altitude, when every available option is thrown at all three on Jeep's website, the Rubicon and Mojave end up $5,000 more than the High Altitude simply because the High Altitude comes standard with more than either the Rubicon or Mojave while many of the Rubicon and Mojave options aren't available on the High Altitude.

I get it, I was just poking fun. Still surprised that no Mojave owners chimed in on that.
I do think that it is the best 80% vehicle though. I tow our camper with it, even though we have a GMC 3500 Duallie with a Duramax; drive it with the top off though we have a '65 Dune Buggy and an MGB; take it on long trips instead of the wife's Outback.....etc.
CHEERS!

Yeah.... them damn Mojave owners... especially the Gobi Mojave owners ... ha ha ha

I do the same, I have a Dodge/Ram 1500, quadcab , long bed with a 5-speed... and I find myself driving the Gladiator more often... unless I'm going to haul some really nasty stuff or something potentially damaging in the bed.

I tired to make them as expensive as I could, the Rubi was more by quite a bit.

Yes!

and to me it says, Its all I could afford and its primarily a Daily driver. No Jeeper in their right mind would/could justify starting with a high trim level to build an off roading beast. (some do, but I don't have that kind of $'s) Now I'm not attempting to ruffle any feathers (epecially SP, my favorite Post troller) but as you all know, everyone has their "ideal JT" in mind before the purchase is ever considered. Either you want to get away, or, you want rubber ducks. When I went to Moab last fall, I did "Chicken Corners" not a bad trail at all, not sure I even put my JT in 4 wheel drive for more than a few minutes, But I came across a couple in a JTR, built "showey" and we "cop stopped" as I was headed in and he was headed out, and we exchanged greetings, which led to me asking how the trail was. He stated it was steep and slick ahead, but if I had a "Rubicon" I would have no trouble, since he barely made it through. I smiled and said said, I don't have a Rubicon and he winced. I let him know I would be just fine, and I was. When done, my wife and I looked and one another and asked ourselves, what was he having trouble with? Bottom line is, no trim level will compensate for the inability to seek out adventure and prevail on the trail. If you want to morph your JT into a over grown quad ATV, attaching plastic snow plows to it and hiding from the outdoors under your noisy, plastic hard top in your perfectly climate controlled leather seat, wonderful, carry on. I hope your duck collection grows to however many you desire your flock to be. Me? I look forward to seeing you on the trails. I'm headed to Moab next week. Itinerary? Metal Masher, Poison Spider-Golden spike trifecta and Cliff hanger to name a few. Having done the Rubicon trail with my 13 yo daughter last year was amazing, never needed winched and she got me through just fine (both my daughter and the JT-sport). Get your city boy butt out of the city and onto the trails, greet some adventure and make a real JT memories with your family, friends and loved ones.

See ya on the trails.
