Cheaper counting evertything? Headlights, taillights, fog lights, turn signals and marker lights? Or just headlights? Not saying you're wrong. I don't know. Just asking. The LED package changes all of the lights on the whole vehicle.
That said, we have one jeep where it came with the led package, and another where we added just LED Headlights later, since we bought it used. Don't regret either.
I got the fogs and DRL's, all in including harness for $300. Headlights are $750 new. My truck came with LED tails from the active safety group. Tails are just about looks, so I guess I don't consider someone caring to change those but good point if someone wants them.

I honestly dont see much of a difference from my inlaws jlu rubicon (has factory leds) and my gladiator(halogens) besides the leds are more white in color and theres more of a distinct cutoff in where it lights up the halogens are plenty bright without blinding oncoming traffic. And as others have said the halogens generate heat which melts snow that the headlight bucket collects. Also im coming from a jk so the headlights in that were terrible lol.

Grear pricing! I mostly got the LED package because for whatever reason, you need it to get the metal bumper. I bought off the lot, rather than building, and it was the only one with a metal bumper and manual. So I got the LEDs. On the JK, I added the LEDs later. I think they were $250. I wish I knew the brand, because they'll fit the JL/JT with an adapter. They are great.

Yeah the metal bumper requires LED fogs.

Anyone buying one later gets the LED fogs with the bumper for 'free'

Yep. I am starting to wonder if I will regret not getting the LED'S on my recently ordered JTRD. I had given consideration to getting the steel front bumper but also had to get the KED package as well. My thoughts at the time was that I was planning on getting the Oracle heated Oculus headlights along with the Oracle taillights, reverse lights and fog lights.

However since I have placed my order I have started reading up a little more on the forum about their products and the issues they have had. I had mainly not wanted the factory package due to no heated headlight. So now I am thinking I may regret my decision here.
For what it’s worth, we have a rubicon with factory LED and live in a cold snowy climate from October to May. I’ve yet to have a single freeze up or have snow get packed into them. Could it happen, sure. But I park ours in the driveway and it gets pelted and covered with snow. No issues with them not being heated.

to answer you question though, I’d say yes. I think the halogens are pretty terrible, and the LED’s are really great. I did add some KC’s with amber lens covers off road/driving lights for serious snow driving, mounted on bumper. I also think the factory ledslook better than oracles. I do have their reverse lights and they’re fantastic.

I think this whole snow in the LED bucket is really overplayed. I live in the NE, and the Midwest before that, and have never had buildup to any degree that I felt the lights were impaired. Granted, I don’t follow other cars closely.

Not saying it won’t happen, but it hasn’t been an issue yet…
This "following other cars closely" stuff keeps coming up. That's not what does it. it's having no one in front of you in a heavy wet snow that does it. I've had it happen twice but I don't regret my LEDs.
I don't know how "following other cars closely" has anything to do with it. Most who have experienced it have been on their own out there - at least I was. No one for a good block or more away from me.
It only happens in certain types of snow and certain temperatures. I might consider heated headlights but right now it's not a priority.

I say get factory LEDs and be done with it - and putting LED bulbs in the wrong reflector or light housing is what a lot of cheap people do but it often pisses off other drivers. There's a lot of reasons to not just swap bulbs. Just because one can doesn't mean one should. I could point to some well-done write-ups on the topic but those who have done it won't care.

Once you see how terrible the factory halogens are you will definitely regret it!

Having said that, I got mine without it as I didn't want to pay for the factory stuff.

I'm replacing my headlights with the oracle heated units at some point and I've already swapped all of the other bulbs out for led.

Very happy so far and I saved $700 or so (including the cost of the oracles)
Go for the factory LED's. Yes than can ice or snow over. Get out and wipe them off. That's what I did on my JK Rubicon Hardrock and my Gladiator Mojave. Can't beat them. That also included my 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. I won't ever have anything BUT LED's.

Mine has only done that under certain conditions. We have a lot of rain turning to freezing rain changing to wet snow and then dryer snow. It's the wet stuff that caused it for me. It was about 30 degrees and the headlight "buckets" filled with wet snow, some slushy mix.
I think for me the advantages of factory LED outweigh the few times i may have problems with snow pack.

Two things you should always get: Rubicon and LED's.

Meh, no need for Rubicon at all here.
Been fine over 2 years. Don 't need the extra cost or things to mess with going wrong.
Don't need to disconnect any sway bar to pull cars out of ditches or drive through fields or snow or mud or haul trailers or landscape blocks or scrap iron.
Rubicon doesn't have anything at all that I need (except maybe bragging rights? That seems to be a constant in Jeep forums. Ain't a real man or REAL Jeep owner if you don't have xxxx model?)

Depends greatly on where you live I suppose. I don’t have a rubicon for bragging rights. I have one to drive over big rocks while smiling. And I live on big rocks.

I just got my 22 with Halogen lights.
I don't have an issue with them. They were actually better than expected.
Have had (better) led lighting in German cars for over a decade. Read so much about how bad the halogens are. Its hogwash I have driven in blizzard conditions in my JT and the halogens performed flawlessly. The most wild thing is I HIGHLY PREFER THE HALOGENS. Way less fatigue on my eyes during long night hauls. Will not be upgrading them to led anytime soon despite that being my original intention.
