I wouldn't change a damn thing if my Jeep steered like that. There was no way my Jeep ever behaved that way before I got the TSB done.

Do you have wheel spacers installed? From the pic, it looks like your wheels & tires stick out from the fenders a bit.

Yeah, 1.75" Rugged Ridge Wheel spacers. Been running them since about a month after I installed the lift and tires.

Looks amazing man. Its subtle but enough you notice the aggressiveness of the poke out of the fenders.

Did you notice any difference in handling or alignment at all?

It actually made it a little more stable with it like that, I noticed the same thing when I had spacers installed on my JKU. Especially when you get a good cross wind on the interstate at 75mph, I feel it way less with the spacers installed.

mine drives like this as well. When I test drove it the first day, i felt like i had to move the wheel constantly back and forth to keep it going straight. I have either gotten used to it, or it is no longer an issue. Mine drives decent. Aluminum box with a 08/20 build date. I just now turned 1k miles.

if you like how it drives then that's really up to you because the tsb is shockingly effective at changing how the vehicle feels (at least when done correctly). i didn't mind it either in hour-ish drives, but having to actively steer/correct on straights about 5 hours into a road trip from houston to virginia made the decision very quickly for me.
Believe you got yours from same dealership as I did and around the same time. Seems like we have similar issues on the JT. No way I could take my hand off the steering wheel like that and having to constantly correct is a pain. Did the dealership you purchased from do the TSB for you. I took mine to the Dodge/Jeep Dealership by me in Katy but they won't do the work.

i went to a different dealership for service (river oaks jeep) and picked them for proximity and because they serve a fairly affluent area. you should try them for sure.

I don't ever have to correct mine so maybe there is a issue going on with yours, not saying there is but on a straight section I can take my hand off the wheel and it will stay straight as a arrow. I just sit back and drive, I rarely even worry about or think about the steering. Only time is when I'm close to a semi or when it's pouring down rain to the point I can't see what's in front of me,.other than that I just drive it. If I was having to correct a bunch or any at all I'd be probably doing it. I wonder how many people are having no issues at all like me.
mine has aluminum steering box and drives straight.. no wander.. 12k miles

So no issues here on @Rocksalt jeep. Have you considered the TSB or are you just going to keep the Aluminum Steering box? To me doesn't make since to do it if you haven't got any issues, I'd think if it was going to be a issue we would have done had it happen. Most who have had serious issues have noticed it immediately or within a few 1000 miles.

I thought mine was a ” jeep thing” issue and had wandering from huge tires/ lift. Coming from a Toyota person of 20 years. Wife drove it once and said it was too much wander. I however got used to it but decided to get the TSB done at Gerry wood last week and there is a significant difference especially driving around backroads. The only suck part was how long it took and cleaning the residual fluid everywhere from the workmanship by the tech . Took 3 cans of cleaner to clean up the mess.

By the way, what front bumper is that?

Rugged Ridge full width High Clearance bumper. You must not be far from me. I used to buy a bunch of vehicles from Gerrywood back in the early 2000's but I had a bad experience with their Body shop/Mechanic shop when they put a Honda Civic Back together for me. Left a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't been back.

Anyway, love those wheels on yours. If I changed mine out I'd put a set of those on mine:like:

I think the best suggestion I could give would be to go test drive a 2021 or drive a buddy's 2020 who has had it replaced and compare. I'll guarantee you feel the difference as soon as it's in gear. Even if yours doesn't wander or you feel like you're not correcting it, the new box is much tighter, and noticeable right away.

I didn't even realize how much I was correcting mine until I really started paying attention, and I always had a pull. I felt like I could have lived with it, but my wife drove it a few days in a row and talked about how she didn't like constantly correcting it, even if it was subtle. She's not as attentive as a driver as I am, and I'm not gonna let her crash the truck due to wander lol, so that's why I got it replaced.

I actually drove 2, a Max tow and a Rubicon, both 2021's at Hendricks when I inquired about the TSB. I'll be honest, I felt like mine drove better than either of the 2021's or at the very least the same. With the wheel spacers mine felt like it was a little more stable. For reference the service tech that drove mine commented on how well it handled with the lift and tires.

I think some are just in their minds are thinking that this is a must but have convinced their selves that this was worth it and I'm not saying it's not if it mentally makes you feel better about how much better yours is handling now. I'm also not speaking about those that have a real problem, I'm particularly talking about those that have just had it done because and then are saying wow this thing handles way better now. I just didn't see or feel it when I drove the 2 I tested out.

Like I have said and others, ours tracks straight with hands off wheel, no over correcting or anything like that.

Well if you tested the others and really felt no difference, then you must really have a good steering gear, which seems to be an exception.

I really don't think it's just "in people's heads", or "they're convincing themselves they have an issue.". Either it feels loose or it doesn't. I'm also not going to begrudge anyone who doesn't really have an issue but still wants it replaced with what seems to be a better quality part. We don't need to be judge and jury of who gets the TSB done. We all paid a lot of money for this vehicle, so if someone wants a fix that is covered under warranty, then go for it.
