I've long been on a quest to set my truck up to make a lot of people give me hate. LOL,
I wanted to run both the KC Gravity light bar and also have a snorkel. The problem is that the snorkel tube is too high for the light bar, i don't really want to cut the hood, and the regular light bar brackets don't play well with the Rugged Ridge Snorkel either.
The GoRhino light bar brackets sits away from the frame. It minimizes how much paint damage you get and I was hoping would give me more clearance for the snorkel.
Turns out it's not enough.
But I've spent the money so....
Out came the heat gun!
I got the cowl section to give way and make room for the bracket. I need to go back and play a little more to make it a little prettier but it works, and I can still remove the snorkel tube if I need to.
Next was to deal with the height of the snorkel. It was simply too tall and interfered with the light bar. So it needed to get a little shorter.
Thankfully the tube doesn't neck down, so cutting out the central section and gluing the pieces together worked well. I need to go back and melt some metal screening or something to ensure the pieces stay together.
