@JeepCares case#83570192
So I'm running into a major issue with my local Jeep dealer (Brown's Dulles Jeep - Dulles, VA). On my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon there is notable rust spots on the hood on both edges of the hood. After taking it in for a warranty claim and following their instructions, long and short of it is that I'm told they'll repaint it, and not replace the hood; which is insane to me since we all know rust is cancer and doesn't go away, and not to mention it's not 2 years old and still in warranty clearly.
It all started once I called for an appointment and they stated I had to go to a dealer which had their own body shop, Chrysler rules, which I debunked when I called another local dealer (Jeep dealer in Tysons Corner, VA) and the warranty coordinator there called BS and said she's reported that dealer to Chrysler as well for basically getting out of doing work, increasing their workload etc., but was apologetic and said worse case talk to her if need be.
Back to the originating dealer, I went and jumped through their hoops of their selected shop, got an estimate to replace, in which case waited a week or more, then upon checking with the shop was informed this is the game they play in dragging their feet and also want an estimate for a cost to repair, and want to spend less. Once I learned this I pressured the dealer more and explained repainting was unacceptable and the hood needs to be replaced. So the warranty coordinator basically deflects then, and says I need to talk to Chrysler/@JeepCares and so I opened up my case. After speaking with Chrysler yesterday, they informed me that each dealer is independently owned and reserves the right to fix how they see fit (WTF) but I could try another dealership, and offered to give me other dealer info locally, as if my internet was down and stopped working.
I am calmly trying to remain sane but it's becoming more and more challenging at this point. The service I've received at this dealership and the blame game and buck-passing is unreal, and as I stated to them, never once have I ever had an issue with a Toyota/Lexus I owned and been at a dealer where they told me to solve it with the manufacturer; BECAUSE THATS THE DEALERS JOB! Anyhow, I calmly left a message for the dealer general manager yesterday afternoon in a last ditch effort to try and resolve things before going elsewhere, but the "service" is absolutely ridiculous. Cheers, we all need one after this
