...or both?

I took my brand new Gladdy Mojave on its first road trip. It was only 2 hours which is very mild for my lifestyle. We usually do 8-20 road trips every couple of months. I was 30 minutes into the ride and I felt like I had been driving all day. My butt hurt, kept having to shift weight from side to side, moving legs around trying to displace weight more evenly. I am 6'4" 260 pounds so I was surprised when the stock seat in the Gaddy didnt really sink at all when I sat on it. It makes me think that thing is never going to break in.

Spent some time searching this forum and a few Youtube videos and read varying opinions on whether the leather seats versus cloth seats were better. My Gladdy has the leather. Some people are saying the seats break in after a while, a lot are saying they don't.

I initially considered buying a seat cushion like your grandma used to take with her to the bingo halls, then I started considering weight distribution.

I did read up about the seat jackers from Desert Does It. https://desertdoesit.com/collection...u-and-gladiator-adjustable-front-seat-jackers

So my question is, for those of you in the camp that the Gladdy seats are uncomfortable, was just the angle for your legs? Or was it also that the seat cushions are too firm and make your butt hurt?

Does installing seat jackers help with butt pain by displacing your weight more evenly across a larger surface of your butt and thighs?

Lastly, I would like to hear from the bigger framed guys whether installing the seat jackers made it worse when considering hitting your head on the sound bar and not being able to see stop lights at an intersection.

I don't want to buy seat jackers just to find out it doesnt solve the problem and I don't want to commit to a seat cushion because the last thing I need is to sit even higher in the cab of the Gladdy. I already feel like Marmaduke with my head in the ceiling
Where are you in Florida. I have the seat jackers on my truck. I'm in east Orlando and would be happy to let you try it out. I am 260 5'11" but I have a tall torso with a 30 inseam so we may sit similar.
I have been on the fence with mine. It definitely did raise me slightly because I have a tint strip on the windshield that now cuts my vision almost in half. If I wasn't about to lift and level the truck I would get rid of them but I'll wait and see how it feels after being leveled.

Adjustment?

WHAT adjustment?

LOL - was thinking the same thing. They don't go as high as my 250 lb/ft one does, but they never need adjustment and nothing to set or unset on them.

I don't fit the large frame, Shaq tall type guy profile, only 5'8" and 200 pounds, but I find the seats totally comfy even with my bad back issues and constant back pain. I can ride in or drive my JT all day.
I'm extremely picky about how they are adjusted, but once I'm there, it's great.

My problem was the seat not being angled up enough in the front. Having a MT, on every shift I was sliding forward and this causing some pain in my lower back from constant adjustment. Thought about the seat jackers but, wanted to try something out first. Went to the hardware store, picked up a couple of 1/2 inch nuts. Placed these under the front arms of the seat mount as risers and this took care of my problem. No more sliding forward in the seat and no more lower back pain. I know, cheap way out but it worked. Tried this before spending the amount on the desert does it jackers. Hope this helps.

I’m a big guy and 6’3” or so. I’ve got a ton of headroom and legroom. Lack of headroom and/or legroom is why I wrote off the competition (Tacoma and 4Runner).

The seats are fine for around town, but I find myself shifting around on longer drives. I wouldn’t say that they’re “uncomfortable,” but yes…they’re a bit firm. It hasn’t bugged me enough (not many long drives) that I’ve put a lot of effort into tinkering with the seat adjustments though.

Some kind of seat cover with an integrated pad might help address that.

I said the same thing!! Sold my 3/4in ones a while ago and it gave me the perspective to realize i liked the oem seat more than I realized.

i also reached out to the company and they said they couldn’t make anything smaller than 3/4. If I remember right it had to do with the hardware or something failing at smaller sizes.
That doesn't make sense as the .75" jacker is part of the adjustable set which has a smaller piece included....

Now THAT'S a torque wrench. Same type that I use for installing head bolts in 3.6 Pentastar engines. Over eleven years and hundreds of heads with no problems.

I got this fella over 45 years ago (damn, I’m OLD!!) to put head bolts in a big block Ford V8.
It’s been one of the most reliable tools I own.

Which kit is that? When i got mine it was either 3/4in or 1in. Which is actually a discontinued set now.

The original kit. The 1" is achieved by stacking a .25" on top of the .75". I guess they're saying you can't use the .25" alone. I never looked as .75 is what I installed first and liked.

Were the stock seat studs long enough to reuse when you put the bolts in as a spacer?

It depends on the individual. I am 6'0" and fat.
I have back and knee issues, from before I was fat so worse now.

For me it was the angle, calf would want to cramp, feet would get sore.
I did the full height on the Seat Jackers and it was heaven. All my issues went away on long drives.

It did take a bit to get used to new driving position, but that is the only complaint I have.

Ahhhh i got ya now. Yea the kit that had the 3/4 and the extra 1/4in spacer allowed either 3/4 or 1in. But not the 1/4in by its self. Which is exactly what i was after and was sad it wasn’t possible.

I sit with the seat all the way back, with no recline. I keep the back close to straight up and down. I'm 5'11" and 265 and find the seats comfortable. I'm able to do five hour drives with just two bathroom stops. I do have a wedge cushion I sit on. My sister found it for me years ago due to tailbone issues. It’s not very thick anymore, but similar to this one.
