I am good going back to talking about how bad these renderings look. The small non-american getting SUV is fine for other countries, it fits the bill for them. I just dont get the whole mindset of throwing out your brands image when they make an EV for the US. The Recon is to Bronco Sport and not a Jeep to me. The Wagoneer S looks like a Toyota Venza. The Wagoneer needs to be a big boxy SUV not some feminized swoopy SUV. It was also my complaint when MB killed the GLK in favor of the ugly GLC.
Yeah I was surprised to see the swoopiness of the back of that Wagoneer S, but I reckon they were forced into it due to aerodynamics.

So what model is going to get the axe to make room for the Recon?

Nice of them to photoshop some treadmarks on at least one of those renders. Like almost everything I would need to see it in person to know if I liked it or not. Need to see some test mules out in the desert.

It is what it is. There is nothing we can do about it, that is what the future holds.
Unfortunately what I see is a little less innovation and accessories available in the future for our Gas a diesel rigs. It also may make it a bit difficult in the future to get parts for an accessory company's that didn't go the EV route and therefore closed. Why would anyone invest in expansion, upgrades, tools or better technicians now if their products and or business will be halted by law in a few years. Many jobs and lives will be impacted.

The Recon looks like a Bronco mixed with a Renegade. I kind of like it though.

F* it, I actually like the look of the Recon, especially with all the panels off. I'm also in love with the idea of replacing my Subaru grocery getter with an EV that can handle some rougher stuff. Kind of meh on the Wagoneer S look, but I never was interested in sporty 4x4s, the blunter the instrument the better in my eyes.

The only thing I'm not a fan of is potentially decreasing brand interest in PHEV 4x4s that got some range, especially trucks. A PHEV JTR is about the only thing that would get me out of my current JT. Of course if Jeep kills the JT at least my resale will go through the roof. ?

I actually like all of the vehicles revealed today, except for the current Wagoneer. The Wagoneer S styling is great but the price is probably going to be north of $100K. The Avenger could actually have a market here in the US if they would only bring it. It's not an off roading Wrangler but it certainly beats a Nissan Leaf! The Recon does look like a Bronco but that's OK. I like it. It's acceptance by the Wrangler crowd is not likely unless it really has rock climbing capability and can be lifted and modified. If it has 4 wheel independent suspension then getting it lifted could be a challenge. Now if they could only make a Gladiator 4Xe that doesn't sacrifice towing!

The Recon looks interesting. Sort of a cross between a Wrangler, Renegade and Liberty. Capabilities, range and cost will determine how successful it is.
I believe the Wagoneer will get 500 miles on a charge, I assume because it's larger and can carry more batteries. As soon as they come up with a battery that can be charged in 8-10 minutes, so you can go across country in a few days, I'm on board. Still I'll keep my JTR and our other car will be EV or PHEV, and with 6.23 kW on our roof, essentially free to drive around town.

Bought another new battery for my cordless hedge trimmer and leaf blower yesterday because by the end of year two they'll only run about 5 minutes on a full charge.

Pretty much every cordless rechargeable thing I have is like that.

Then there's the underpowered grid nightmares of Texas and California that make you wonder why they keep pushing EVs when they don't have enough power to run the ACs.

For now I'll keep pumping and enjoying longer drives interrupted by five minute refills.

Just call me Jedediah ??‍♂
Because more and more of us have rooftop solar, and the price keeps coming down. As my granddaughters say "change is coming grandpa".

Gladiator 4xe confirmed?
Or maybe PHEV. That would make more sense since some will require towing capability. How exactly they would do that, I think the jury is still out. Still, since I don't do much towing, it could work for me, and we have rooftop solar as well.

LOVE IT!!!

Wish the industry would move away from SUVs though. Everything is an SUV or Crossover. Would it kill yah to make a full electric Wrangler and yes I get it that body style does not give a lot of room for batteries. It doesn't even have to go over 200 miles, I'm happy with a around town short commute EV Wrangler.

I'm there too, but as a second vehicle...
