I thought this was gonna be a keychain. ??‍♂
it is smaller than the key fob….
LOL!

Is there such a thing as a SIMPLE front camera that would show me when my front hitch is aligned to my trailer tongue, or when things are aligned to mount the plow? If you get lined up right for the plow, you just drive up to it and it guides itself in. But with my lack of depth perception, it takes me a couple of tries and trying to hook up to my trailer with the front hitch takes a bit of trying as I don't want to bump the front bumper with the trailer tongue.
I thought maybe there was some simple cheap camera that would point to the area immediately in front of the front bumper and show me like the factory rear camera does when backing up to a trailer.
My wife has a rear camera from garmin - BC40 I think - that Attached to the rear license plate and displays wirelessly on the compatible garmin gps… you could attach to the front license plate and aim it as needEd for your plow. Other cheaper similar options are probably out there.

How did you do the color? Pretty nice looking.
Thanks. Not sure what you mean by how did I do the color?
Started with new black rims, taped off the area not getting paint, sanded, primed, added some adhesion promotor, and then paint.

Thanks - my Garmin GPS is an antique - but worth looking into. Wireless would be great. nice if I could have it in place only when needed that way.

Now that you and I have plows ready to go, it won't snow this winter. My wife says she hopes it snows every week now.

I wish I knew. I only know hillbilly tactics. Funny you should ask because I have a magnetic mirror that mounts on the trailer so I can line up my polish hitch. Cheapest option I could find. ?

I know I'm guilty of wordy posts sometimes, but damn.
Thought that I was reading a Shadowspapa post at first. But then it turned to War and Peace. He covered everything, including the toilet.

What a day! Got er done except for minor wiring. Special thanks to @svc707 for the plates. Bumper on and snow plow ready for Mother Nature when she shows up. Ended up doing grill accents while at it. With plow, bumper and winch I lost 1 3/8” in height but I have 1.5” spacer lift up front so I’m good! But tired.

How did you get that red color accent on the grille?

That’s what I was thinking too - easily removed after plow season is over. Probably find a cheap compatible gps on FB market place or ebay… doesn’t need the gps to work as long as the camera connects and displays!

This is a duplicate post (mostly) of one I put on the Towing/Flat Towing sub forum. Administrator - Please remove it if this isn't allowed.

Finished installing lockable bike mounts in the bed for an upcoming camping trip. Mounted on a scrap 2x6 & finished it just so it doesn't look like well - scrap! The bike outboard pedals will be bungee'd or carabiner'd to the trail rails. Bikes won't move. I'll be flat towing the Gladiator behind my 26 ft. Class C RV for the first time.

Previously we towed a Fiat 500 (still have it) but I've wanted to make the Gladiator flat towable for a couple months long trip to Canada and back sometime in the next year. We'll see how the RV does on this test tow. I installed Maximus-3 recovery loops based on info found here rather than a frame-mounted baseplate like I have on the Fiat and also had on my old JK.

Bit of a pain in the neck because the "things" - whatever is their proper name - on the end of the Falcon 2 tow bar had to be changed to interface with the loops. I added the cross tie bar - also based n info from here - but the supplied bolts were not long enough. Had to get longer Grade 8 bolts & washers and all was good.

If anyone sees anything of concern PLEASE post comments.

Put on a dedicated winter set of tires/wheels. Stock base Mojave wheels (7.5” wide) Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 255/85R17 (35x10x17).

I thought these tires on stock wheels would be just too “tucked,” but I am perfectly OK with where they sit. Especially for Michigan winters.

Also, I wanted these Mickeys from the get-go and was told by 2 Belle Tire stores and my chosen Jeep speciality shop, that they absolutely would mount them on the 8.5” wide Method wheels (mentioned/pictured) below). I think at the time (May), said tires were still on a national backorder, hence the Kendas also mentioned below.

Side note… 1” wheel spacers do not work without cutting the OEM studs & chose to NOT use them.
I have had 3 Toyotas all with their own set of 1” wheel spacers. Each one of those vehicles’s OEM wheels all worked with 1” wheel spacers.

Not the greatest of pictures and the head-on one looks worse in picture, than actual, but I am really liking this narrow tire thing. I personally (for myself) could not be more over wide/WIDE tires, but hey… we all like something different.

Dedicated summer set are Method 315 wheels that are 17x8.5” and 0 offset.
Tires are Kenda Klever R/T 35x10.5x17

Good day

Those Baja ATs on the stock rims look amazing. I've been waiting forever to get a set of Toyo AT3s in 11.5 wide and have been considering these now. I've been looking around for pics. Yours may have sealed the deal. I'm done with wide tires too.

The first year I bought my plow it snowed very little. According to the almanac we may be hit pretty good his year to use the plows. I was doing driveways for parishioner’s to get to church and the store. I enjoy it.

Plowing is great, I too enjoy it but up here we start to run out of room to push snow. Moved on to tractors now ?
