Replaced the main crank battery. Even with battery tender on it overnight, it showed overall health was bad (even though state of charge/voltage was good).

Battery was tested completely disconnected (to isolate from the aux battery). Aux battery was fine (around 90%).

Got a bigger Duracell battery from a local Batteries Plus ($220.80 out the door - after tax, 10% discount, and core return).

Something I didn't know until I read here in the forums is that JTs (maybe JLs as well) that come equipped with factory Aux switches come with the bigger batteries. Mine didn't, so it came with the smaller 650 CCA battery (and a spacer on the battery tray).

New one fits perfect.

Not much but still a “To”. New license plate frame “1 of 4190 Launch Edition” and a rain jacket for the cab. Hopefully this cold spell will move out soon so the doors can come off again.

I’ve been busy…

metal cloak Rocklander hinge steps

Cali raised molle panel attached to the contour canopy. (I plan on mounting a fiskers axe and shovel to it using quick fist mounts)

bulletpoint rubigrid mounting system

ARB potable single that I mounted in a rigid tool box so it will stack with my other boxes.

When Chrysler announced that the Launch Edition was being made back in 2019 my wife and I registered for it the day it opened which happened to be my wife’s birthday. There were only 4,190 of the LE’s made in the US. A bunch of us joined the Gladiator Forum together which added to the excitement. Then the delays of delivery hit. At the time, supply chain was good (pre-Covid) but Chrysler was still working out the bugs on the line, transportation issues etc. Anyway, as the LEs were delivered we all realized that they weren’t “numbered” and we all got “1 0f 4190”. Lol. Although most of us felt like we got 4190 of 4190 because we waited so long for delivery. The 4190 is based off of the zip code 419 for Toledo where Glads are made. Gotta love marketers….

Very cool. Is there a way to figure the order out with the VIN?

I kind of feel bad for you guys that jumped early on the Launch Editions thinking there was some exclusivity. Jeep really screwed the pooch on this making people think they were first going to get one of the first 4190 Gladiators off the line and they were going to be numbered.

Compound that with the train derailment early on that destroyed a bunch of Launch Editions before they could be delivered and had to be built again to satisfy the custom order, then eventually offering them for overseas markets, there was quite a few more the 4190 built. Final insult was later deliveries having the "ONE OF 4190" removed from the tailgate badge.
