What’s the pain on swapping hooks? I’ve got a spare set so I can just install in the steel and not remove from my Mojave plastic.

There are eight of these assembly nuts. They are pressed on at the factory and have to be cut off. And frankly I’d like to have had eight to put back in since I think it would make alignment much easier when putting the bumper back on.

is that Warrns new full width elite? How do you like it, how was the install?
It is indeed a Warn Elite full width bumper - install was straight-forward with no issues - fitting the skid plate was a different story but worked out. Fitting the original fog lights in the bumper took a bit of ingenuity but managed the install.

I have the same bumper. It was an easy install.

Same all around. The skid plate would haven been super easy if it was installed before the bumper went on. But it was back ordered for a while last year, so it went on later. I trimmed two ears off of my oem led fogs, and then they went in easily.

Your fogs look a bit more centered than mine. How’d you install yours? This picture is really out of date before lift, tires, and lots of other things, but shows the bumper and fogs.

Thanks for the pic.

so in preparation, wonder if I can just grab some properly sized nuts and lock washers?

Probably not. You are going to need something that is extremely flat to avoid throwing off the dimensions and spacing for the bumper as it goes to the frame horns. I would suggest getting the flat nuts in the previous comment off of Amazon. There are also options through Mopar.

Nuts & lock washers will space the bumper out farther than normal, & could cause other alignment issues during installation.

You are making this way harder than it needs to be.

These original speed nuts are only there to keep the tow hooks in place during installation of the bumper to the truck frame.

To change the tow hooks, these speed nuts can easily be removed & re-used in most cases.

Just take a small flat blade screwdriver & gently pry up on each of the "teeth" engaging the threads just enough to loosen them up & allow the speed nuts to be easily threaded off the studs.

To re-use them just take a hammer & flatten the "teeth" back down, then push them all the way down on the studs (much quicker & easier than trying to thread them all the way down) to the bumper mount bracket surface as original to hold the tow hooks in place while it is installed on the frame.

Hope this is a help.

That helps. I haven’t even touched it so I was just trying to see what I was going to have to do when I mess with it. I’ve don’t that before with speed nuts and I’ll do it again on this.

You are far far far more patient than me. I tried for a while but decided to just cut them off since I was not making any real progress and was scratching the bumper (only of concern to me was the potential corrosion). If I’d known in advance and for the cost I’d order 8 new ones, cut the old ones off, and push the new ones on.
