There are continuous ratings and intermittent ratings. What you see advertised on some of the cheap crap on Amazon is the maximum something can take for a surge - but when you look at the duty cycle or continuous load ratings, it's less. So I'm leery of using Amazon text - depends on the seller. If Warn was selling things on Amazon - I'd believe them. But Joe's auto parts (where things are drop shipped from China to your door because they stock nothing), meh, take it with a grain of salt (or ketchup if you prefer)
I see so many misleading things on Amazon - I look to see who the seller is or if I can verify what they say.
Quadratec has a reputation to uphold and if they wish to continue to be authorized sellers of products - they need to behave so they are better sources.

i realize this. Which is why I made comment about the duty cycle (which for this solenoid is not known at the moment). The part numbers match a warn product and in fact come in a warn box. Them matching numbers I found were on several sites. In fact I first found it on multiple parts suppliers sites that are not amazon. Amazon is just easier to google and link to. Normal amazon products are not really trustworthy. But sometimes numbers match and this one did when i check several months ago. All of the seller options I found, amazon and legit parts suppliers show the same 63001 solenoid as a warn product.

I am inclined to believe the specs quadratec offers. I know a lot of people dont like them due to their prices. however every time i have asked them for a specification of a product, i also cross reference that spec with the manufacturer, and for me anyway it has always been accurate. The main potential issue in this specific case is the product linked to of quadratec is the entire warn disconnect kit which includes a solenoid, wires, and switch. And that kit does not specify a part number. So it is not known with certainty if that kit has the same 63001 solenoid or if it is a different one. so hopefully we will hear back with certainty tomorrow.

When I was looking to buy my Synergy 2" springs, I had 3 web sites open - Synergy's site, Polyperformance and Quatratec's site. I was checking prices, shipping, availability and so on, comparing.
All 3 said $245, Polyperformance was running a 12% off sale, Quadratec had a sale on that specific spring for something like $215 (somewhere in the 2-teens)
But the base MSRP was 245 on all three. I got busy and finally decided to order after looking around for a couple of days. I called Polyperformance where I had bought the 1" springs. They said ok, that'll be $280. WTF??? I told them that I had been looking and that their price was 245 minus 12%. He did some math and came up with $246.
I said - I was just looking at their site and Synergies site and both had 245. He said he was also looking and both showed 280. I did a refresh and literally over night, the price jumped from 245 to 280.
So I contacted Quadratec and said no, as long as they had stock that the price was still the original price. So what happened is that some places bought the springs for stock when the price was lower - and then charged the higher price for the stock they had bought at the lower price.
Quadratec was still honoring the original lower price - and had that size on sale.
I know it can go the other way, too - what do they do if they've bought stock at a higher price and the prices drop? I get that - but..................how often do prices drop on stuff like that?
Shipped to my door for roughly 60 bucks less than anyone else.

Could be - but the quality of US made stuff often sucks these days as well. I bought some seat belts from an outfit in Texas (or was it Florida?) - looks like a 5 year old did the work.
Charged a premium but 3rd world quality.

oh man thats crazy. Yeah months ago when i was going through that surgery quadratec had a rear bumper I wanted on sale for almost half off. but by the time i was awake enough to order it the price jumped up to 1400 or something. So i called them and asked what was up and explained my situation since I left it in the ‘cart’ online and they ended up honoring that sale price.

was talking with an old high-school classmate of mine the other day who has a website selling diesel truck parts and he let me in on this little secret saying that some people set their websites to be fully automated and they just set the price of sale based on a certain percentage of what the manufacturers ’allow’. and so as soon as the manufacturer price changes so does their site. He said a lot of people do this so tey can essentially just walk away and have work free income. But its not really a good business practice. So i guess that sorta makes sense with how much some prices seem to change or vary. Its kinda crazy! Makes me want to get something going myself and actually provide a good and detailed service since it is so darn hard to find legit specs on a lot of parts these days.

Ok - so I don't do well with unanswered questions so called Warn today, sorry if I stepped on somebody's toes.

The gal on the phone sent me a copy of the instructions, which do NOT specify any type of rating capacity. She then looked into all the specs and documents she had access to, and nothing had an actual specification on it. So, she said that because winches are relatively a momentary operation, that there shouldn't be any problems, and this solenoid is good and listed to use for all their products. Now, personally, I wouldn't trust it for the super heavy winches like the 16.5. Those suckers pull a LOT of power, and in that case I certainly would want a rating. But the 12K options pull a lot less and it should be ok - plenty of people are using them without issue.

She did confirm that the 63001 number is a valid and current part number for the interlock solenoid by Warn. Hope this is helpful.

I have that Warn interrupt ... I certainly hope it's more than 175. I hope really hard because when I overloaded my winch trying to pull my fat JTR out of a mud pit, it burned out the 500A fuse located between the solenoid and the battery.

But I can understand why someone might thing 175A. I looked online at the Warn info and on Am'zon and yeah, they toss that number around. One buyer said 450A, one said 100/600/200 carry/make/break .. who knows what the real is.

You have several valid points and good questions. I feel better knowing the actual amperage. I have looked online for information on the Warn supplied solenoid and have not been able to find specifications specifications for it. Perhaps with these posts someone readinwill chime in.

I like your style. I contacted Warn also, and as the reception person did not have the specs available she forwarded my request for the solenoid specs to the tech department. When and if I receive the specs I will post the information.

I could have said that.............. It's what came in that same kit I bought. It's the number I was digging into when I bought my kit last year.

As far as winches bigger than the 1200 for a Jeep of any sort - why would anyone?

I bet if people read the books that came with their winches (heck, they don't even look at the Jeep's owner manual, why would anyone read a winch book - everyone knows everything there is to know, right?) I bet they'd be surprised to find the duty cycle isn't 100%.

It absolutely does. I bought coffee for the family so they were in the 4 drink carrier. Took a corner a bit to fast and my trenta went flying. I rushed to the detailer and had them extract everything out of the seat. They did what they could with the carpet. I’m not so worried about that because was going to order the Armorlite flooring anyway.
