would love to have power seats in the front.
My wife wants - actually NEEDS, power seats. Her handicap means she can't reach down and pull that lever up and move the seat at the same time. I have to move it for her. So each time we switch drivers in our vehicles, I have to go out and move the seat. Making it worse is the fact that it's a 100 pound spring on that damned lever making it hard to pull it up anyway.
So once these are out, I'm going to be buying the power seats to swap into her 4xe and maybe even my JT.

And more expensive windshield replacement. Ugh.
A. That's what insurance is for
B. Cars and trucks have been doing this since last century. Jeep is finally catching up.
shocked they didn't do this earlier since a tall antenna sticking up in the bushes and trees is sort of anti-trail, IMO. Remove anything external that can snag and the stupid antenna forms huge pieces of ice in our ice storms and then starts whipping back and forth wildly on the road with all that ice on it. It's a dumb thing to have an external AM/FM antenna on anything, IMO.

Retailers of bullet-shaped antennas are weeping
Jeep finally caught up with all of the thousands of people swapping antenna for short antenna with crappy range. It's a win - nothing to catch on low-hanging trees and large bushes, nothing to catch ice on during our ice storms and whip antennas around, better reception than those stubby things, and less drag having a protrusion out there.

That grill caught my eye.
Now my wife will be PO'd because they will offer power seats and bigger screens.
But at least I can swap seats when these come out. They'll be selling those seats, you can bet on it, to a lot of people out there who don't drive through 30" of water (like were are we going to do that??)
Power seats can resist water and crap anyway - they've been in other SUVs and CUVs for years.

Still don't like the new grill, I'll be interested to hear what the percentage of cooling increase it provides though. Figured they would have touted it in the press release if it was very significant.

The 12.3" display on the other hand looks fantastic and being that it's now the only trim shouldn't be outrageous to find all the parts for a swap in place of my current 7".

I've always thought the landscape displays work better than the big tablet portrait style ones like they have in the Ram.

Kind of impressed. Would be happy if even half that got to the Gladiator.

Can really tell Jeep is feeling the heat from the Bronco taking a lot of thunder away from the Wrangler causing them to up their game.

Improvements to the Willys would be where I am at if I was to go back to a Wrangler JL.

Jeep actually says 34" of waterfording on the power seats, basically water tight short of straight submerging the entire bottom cushion.

A new trail-ready stealth antenna integrated into the front windshield replaces the previous steel mast antenna, streamlining Wrangler’s appearance and eliminating brush or tree limb snags on the trail.

Darn, no more antenna mods. ?
And, you'll get a new antenna every 6 months when a rock cracks your windshield...

They will still be JLs I'm sure. It's just a mid generation refresh. It's actually pretty typical for Jeep. The JK got one in 2011. The TJs got one in 2003. Honestly I think the refresh is a good sign they plan to keep the JL around at least a couple more years. If they were doing a new generation I don't see them investing this much effort into the refresh. The last 3 Wrangler generations were, 9 years for the YJ (87-95), 10 years for the TJ (97-06), and 11 years for the JK (07-17). Following that trend I'm hopeful the current gen lasts at least through 2027. That way my 21 JT still looks like the current model for the most part for the next 4 or 5 years.

No mention of factory gear ratios.. BOO.
They did, actually. They said up to 100:1 crawl ratio. That requires more gear ratio options. For instance. A rubicon with 5.13:1 diffs has a 96:1 crawl ratio in todays world.

They finally fixed what I felt was holding the Willys back, rear-lockers! Now it feels like a proper "budget" Rubicon!

The 12.3 inch radio is a nice upgrade, even the 7 inch feels a bit small when you get into other vehicles.

I feel it's kind of funny seeing this announcement on the same day I dropped the JT off at the dealer to look into/warranty an oil leak. Definitely keeping an eye out to see what transfers over to the JT.

you can keep all the interior fluff but bring this new axle to the Gladiator! Why the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Is Switching to a Full-Float Rear Axle (thedrive.com)

The Rubicon gets a complete off-road workover starting with a new full-float Dana 44HD solid rear axle. A full floating axle has a separate hub and axle shaft assembly where the hub is supported by a spindle and a pair of wheel bearings. The design puts the weight of the Jeep on the axle tube instead of the shaft.

It’s a stronger, more robust design that Jeep said many customers were sourcing on their own anyway. It’s ideal for fitting even larger tires than stock, and it also lets Rubicon tow up to 5,000 pounds on four-cylinder and V6 models.

the Rubicon with factory 4.88s, a 5.13 first gear (manual) and a 4:1 xfer case is already at 100:1, but did they ditch the garbage 3.45s on the other trims?
