Motul is one of the better ones. Although with the new doc it seems that T6 meets the requirement. Just not smthe suggested ms12991

Not a fan of Pennzoil. What other options are there?
What I can tell you is that the UOA results with Pennzoil is just as good as the other high-end oils. Shell does a pretty good job with their oils whether it be Rotella or Pennzoil.

Yup. I wouldn't be running Pennzoil if I wasn't happy with the UOA results. Amsoil and Motul will hold viscosity better, but the Pennzoil does just as good at protecting the engine in terms of wear metals.

Ended up picking up the Motul. Yeah it costs more for it for 40$ a 5L jug. Picked up 6. 5w40 8100 X-cess gen 2

I made my UOA report(s) a little easier to look at for comparison.

At this time, I feel pretty comfortable running 6,000-mile drain intervals. Keep in mind, a lot of my miles are towing miles. Outside of high aluminum numbers, I'm fairly content with my reports. Regardless of the oil used, high aluminum numbers seem to be normal for this engine. I wish we could see a few high mileage (100,000+ miles) UOA reports to predict what trends might look like. Eventually, we'll see a high mileage engine torn apart to know where the weak links are in the engine.

The aluminum doubled because my mileage nearly doubled.

(13 aluminum)
Lube Time: 3,551 miles
Unit Time: 7,684 miles

(25 aluminum)
Lube Time: 5,123 miles
Unit Time: 12,807 miles

(26 aluminum)
Lube Time: 6,786 miles
Unit Time: 19,593 miles

Outside of the factory fill, I've been running Pennzoil Platinum. I've seen several Motul 8100 X-Clean UOA reports, and they all had higher iron numbers than mine. That could be a coincidence, or it could mean that it doesn't have the same protection. Also, Motul seems to lose viscosity quicker based off the reports I've seen.

The cert is in Spanish so there is probably a loop hole in the warranty that voids everything because it's not meant for US based stuff :giggle:

In all seriousness, good find
