Went to car wash today for the first time (I wash the truck myself). During the wash, I felt water coming in from the driver door when it was going through the pressure rinse phase. Later I also noticed water on the corner and have no idea where it’s coming in. I assume this is not normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

Only issue I've ever had is if stuff was slightly misaligned after I took it off. If you went topless/doorless recently, I'd just recheck that it's all lined up properly.

Not every time but once in a while I will see several drops on the driver’s side all weather floor mat after going through the car wash. I have not been able to identify where the water is coming from. Also, I have never removed the cab shell or taken the doors off. I will follow your post and hope to learn something.

I get a spray of water through the doors every time I go through. I used to think it was coming from the freedom tops, but it’s actually the high pressure water making its way between the drivers and passenger door.

If you have a few random drops - check before you open the door. When I go through the carwash, it seems like some water sits somewhere around the top door seal until I open the door at which point I get a few drops on the all weather mat. Happens with both front and rear doors for me.

If you have those step in threshold protectors that go horizontal then up, they will prevent the bottom door seal from sealing properly. I turned the HVAC system on high “recirculate” and it made it a little better, because it sucks the doors in a bit tightening the seal, but ended up removing the protectors. This also works well with soft tops with soft windows to prevent flutter going down the highway. I went through some water that made it up to the bottom of the door and the rear passenger side let a little in…so I removed those as well. No issues since.

I have this happen too! The wash I go through has a part that blasts the sides at a kind of upward angle, and there's always a tiny blast of water that shoots through the passenger side door at the bottom up towards the driver. It will literally blast you in the face lol. I have gotten to where I put my windshield sun shade against the door so that it'll hit that. I've never had my Gladiator leak water through during rainstorms or driving through water though, so it's annoying, but not annoying enough that I want to deal with taking it in.

I will check this out next time I go through the car wash. Thanks

that looks like it may be coming from the hole behind your washer fluid where there is a cap to run wire into your cab.

Happens on both my JT and Wife's JL, in touchless spray or "laser" washes. The spray overcomes the weak door seals and sprays in when the angle is just right.

I went back and looked at the pictures, I have to agree with this. When I first ran wires though that cap I didn't seal up the hole I made in the middle, I figured where it was at would be fine, but water made it's way through there. I put a dab of silicone on the hole around the wires. Check to see if your cap is still there (its the cap the clutch rod would go through if it were a manual), or if you've run wires through there, make sure it's sealed around the wires.

Like Al said -
It may be enough pressure directed at the right angle (or wrong angle!?) to displace and distort the rubber weatherstrip between door and door frame/opening.

Thanks all. I do have some accessory wires coming through the cap mentioned above. I will try seal it.
