I'm an all one color person and that black grill don't work for me. Jeez I normally go every two years on getting a new ride. maybe this year I'll go with another Model. where I can have all one color body, fenders, top. and now I have to say grill.
I’m just guessing, but I’d bet the color matched grill is still standard and the black grill is a new option on the 2024 High Altitude model.
I at first liked the extra cooling on paper, but now I'm holding judgement after I realized it essentially meant a black grill too. It doesn't have to be all black based on the '24 Wrangler pics, but with the bars now being black mesh it's more black than before even if going with body-color.

I heard mention of color inserts, so I wonder how those might help or hurt. But it doesn't look too blacked out when the surround is body-color. I'll have to see it in person.

That said, I like black fenders and top, and think the black grill can look good too; better with some colors more than others.

They don't take premium. The 2.0 is happy on 87, but like basically all turbos the computer will advance timing if you feed it premium to wring out literally 2-3% more power. The owners manual for our 4xe says as much
I don't doubt you. Why do they list recommended fuel as premium in their specs then?

Because it will increase performance 2-3% unlike in something like a pentastar which won't increase timing. So anything higher than 87 won't make a difference.

The manual says though "This engine is designed to meet all emission requirements, and provide satisfactory fuel economy and performance when using high-quality unleaded “regular” gasoline having an octane rating of 87, as specified by the (R+M)/2method."

According to my friend who works at Jeep, it sounds like the 2024 Gladiator is already in production.

So they’re secretly producing and stockpiling them, while customers are still waiting for their ‘23 orders to be built?

I think the color inserts will just replace the gray inserts, so won't add any more blockage to the intakes. Pic from Dirt Road Cred's youtube video below.

I just called my dealer and they double checked the online ordering systems... Jeep is still only taking orders for 2023 Gladiators. Weird.

Right. I was mostly thinking of how it might help make it more body color, for those that don't like black grills. Could be interesting, or not. I'd like to see the result.

It is only a matter of time before there's a JT4XE. I still think the Mojave gets a Hurricane option with some go fast tuning. Maybe the rest of the line will get a detuned version.

That being said, the. GC and Wrangler 4XE's are way more expensive than they should be. The blue hooks on the Trailhawk and Overland doesn't look good as a contrast on a lot of colors.

I don’t think a 4xe gladiator will sell well in Texas. The dealership I’m using has at least 20 Wrangler 4xe’s on the lot. Just 2 normal Wranglers. The sales manager said that they can’t sell the 4xe’s even with heavy discounts (he tried unsuccessfully to lease me one at $9K below sticker and $7,500 In federal tax credits). He also said that for 2024, the 4xe Wranglers are going to be special order only as Jeep won’t be shipping them any..
What dealer is this? I might have to go get my wife a 4xe lol

Yeah I ordered a 23 about a week ago. I'm a peace with my decision if I get my truck in August vs February. If mine rolls off the line the same time as the 24s that's going to sting a little.

The Uconnect 5 is concerning as the GC owners have been reporting lots of issues with screens freezing, going black.

I think that isn't a production grill. It's likely part of the camouflage. The HA grills will likely be identical to the Wranglers, which is a color match surround with a black center.

Man and now I’m one of the suckers still waiting for their ‘23
That seems odd when order banks aren't even open for the 24's. Can they confirm the 24's being built are getting the same refresh bits as the Wranglers?

They currently produce black grills. It's standard on the Willys models and optional on some others. I'd guess they are continuing it for the 2024 models.
