Does anyone know how long the warranty is good for? I thought I saw somewhere it was good for 5 years or 100,000 miles. I’ve noticed my door hinges are bubbling. Anyone had this issue and gotten it covered under warranty

Good luck with that. I had reps from Chrysler even look at mine in my old Jeep and they will not cover them even know they had a problem with them. My Gladiator 1.5 years old has bubbles on the hood and a door I will see what happens with that.
Let us know how it works out for you.

Hi, I took a buy-back on my 2020 JLUR for corrosion. It took about a month of negotiations with the dealer firmly on my side. Received $55k and bought my 2023 Mojave for $59k. I was pleasantly surprised Jeep owned up to the issue. Jeep care helped too. The dealer told jeep the repairs would cost $19k.

Did you have unusually extensive corrosion, or just the standard bubbling many see?

Hi, all the hinges and in some areas it migrated to surrounding area. The jeep has never been north of Jacksonville, Fl. It was rinsed after each beach trip. According to the dealer/body shop a common issue with JL&JT. Not a problem with my previous JKU. Both on the beach 3-4 times a week. Incompatible metals. So far no issues with my Mojave. I purchased an unlimited carwash locally, hope it helps. My Mojave has a thin black material between the hinges and panels. No metal to metal Contact. Maybe FCA got the memo.

I'm not so sure that frequent washing doesn't contribute to the problem. Water is an electrolyte and plays a role in the corrosion process.

Could you post pictures.
No metal to metal on the door to hinge, but I guess the actual pin and bolt are also different metals that bridge the contact.

The latest hinge corrosion TSB includes the use of zinc shims behind the hinges which indicates that FCA sees this as a galvanic corrosion issue (or at least an issue with a galvanic corrosion fix).

(21 JTR, 82k kms) I guess I’ll revive this thread to say I too have been kissed by corrosion. Didn’t hyper focus on the surface bubbling until I noticed it in just the right lighting conditions a couple days ago. Mine is around the aluminum hood edge and on the aluminum door panels at the metal hinges where they meet.

I quickly checked my warranty booklet and I’m still within it by a month. I took it in and everyone needing to address it came running. Photos were taken, and sent upstairs, a claim was started and the service manager came over and spent 30 min talking with me about the truck and how the year was ending and stuff and then about the corrosion. There’s been a lot of it happening.

My hinges are magnetic but the door panels are not. The corrosion around the hood edge is also on aluminum.

The warranty department then booked me right away to head over to their body shop while the service manager and I were chilling out. The body shop needed to take photos and do their cost analysis for the warranty.

Later in the day I went over to the body shop and the appraiser took photos and said when this was in assembly, they matted the aluminum panel and metal hinges together then painted it. Metal and aluminum don’t like each other so corrosion takes place. He wasn’t sure why the hood edge was corroded being aluminum. That was a mystery to him.

I’m waiting for final warranty approval and then it’ll get booked mid February for repairs.
