I refuse to believe this is anything more than an error of omission on their part. No freaking way.

Prices will look like they've increased a lot but probably haven't much. Many more previous options are now standard and most are in groups, can't piece it together as before.

Mojave and Rubi have Aux switches standard, LEDs standard now. The 12.3 is an option - I wonder what is standard, maybe the 8.4 carries over?

Standard now and when they became so for Mojave at least:

Trailer tow and programmable auxiliary switches ( 2024 )
Proximity keyless entry ( 2022 )
LED lamps (front, rear, fog) ( 2024 )
The 12.3" is standard on all models. You can upgrade it to include Alpine speakers and navigation.

So... I recently purchased a temporary vehicle to hold me over to a 2024 Gladiator 4xe that we now know isn't happening. It's a 2022 Nissan Frontier SV that had 30 miles on it... I paid $33,900. It's a 310 horsepower 4x4 with a crew cab, 6' bed with bed protection / power / lighting, power seats, automatic AC / heat, power everything else, adaptive cruise control, a touch screen with Android Auto, automatic high / low headlights, backup camera / sensors, towing package, etc. etc. etc. It's comfortable, durable, and reliable with zero squeaks or rattles. While the Nissan and Jeep are totally different vehicles, the announcement today gives me zero reason to pay nearly DOUBLE for a new Gladiator. If Jeep wants to maintain or increase marketshare they really need to do better than what was announced today. Just my 2 cents.

The toughest and most reliable truck I ever owned was my 91’ Nissan D21 “Hard Body” with the 2.4 KA24E I4 engine. Mine was lifted with 32’s. At the time it was the strongest frame of any truck under 3/4 ton. They used a full boxed frame when everyone else was using C channel frames. Off road it was like a tractor. Nissan has always made a good truck. It’s for people who want a solid tool rather than a shiny object.

Mine got totaled when a GMC dump claw truck driven by a drunk tree pruner ran into me and crushed the front end. I’m lucky I wasn’t killed. I bought it back from insurance for $100 and sold it to some Mexican guys. They literally ratchet strapped the trashed A-arm back in place and drove it from Virginia to Mexico. I’d like to think it’s still going strong on some farm somewhere down there. I’d buy it back if I could.

I was being facetious. I'm very familiar with full float vs partial float axles. I own several heavy duty pickups from a RAM 2500 to a Ford F-550 and I service everything I own including the Gladiator. My point is that running 37's or larger on Dana 44 axles, full float or not, is not a smart choice...especially if any off-road driving will be done. The D44 is a strong axle but its not a D60, and let's be honest...the Gladiator is not a lightweight vehicle.

I bought mine in May. Would it be cool if they put a V8 in it? Yes. Would they charge a super premium though? Highly likely! So, do I need it, no? I love on a farm and tow some, but nothing too heavy and actively camp and off-road. I can haul anything I need to haul, tow anything I need to tow (even a camper on the beach). With the AT transmission it outperformed my 2020 Tundra towing on the beach, outperformed my Tacoma too. And....it's better off-road and at the time had better amenities before their refresh...but the sound system is way better. The fun factor is way higher. And...the 8-speed AT is fantastic. I'm a happy owner, the hurricane motor would be cool too. Because more towing and more power isn't bad, but I knew what I bought and I look forward to having it for years.

I'm probably biased because I have a 2022 Gladiator, but I surely prefer the clean integration of the 8.4" display and the matching round vents. The new display is nice, but looks tacked on, and the new vents don't match. My Overland trim already had the nice soft material on the dash. I've also read the 8.4" display has some degree of water proofing / water resistance. I've not heard that claim about the more exposed 12.3" display. It would be a shame if your expensive electronics got wrecked because you encountered a sudden rainstorm with the hard tops at home...

I agree with this. It seems that a lot of display's nowadays is tacked on. It would not stop me from buying a new Gladiator if it had a V8 though. But the changes are not enough to trade mine in.

For those of you that think a 4xe is ever coming, stop dreaming! Also, why would you want one? If you understand the technology, it literally provides nothing as it stands right now. (I have a 4xe Trailhawk, by the way). I couldn't even watch the whole reveal as it was totally predictable and Jim made the whole thing uncomfortable. He was stumbling every other sentence. Maybe he also knew that this was the most underwhelming Jeep thing ever. This model is doomed like I mentioned in a prior thread. Their new electric truck will be a Maverick rival.

"Why would you want one"

It will make all of my city driving FREE. I'd only pay for gas on wheelin' trips.

Is that not a good reason?

My coworker has the 4xe Wrangler and doesn't use any gas for 95% of his trips. I want one because most of my trips are less than 15 miles round trip. Hell, the ski resort is only 16 miles away. 4xe would be awesome for me.

Maybe research battery technology? Jeep has the worst battery technology out there. If we were comparing internet speeds, they are dial up. BTW, you do pay as you have to charge your vehicle at home. Off peak hours aren't bad, but you act like ~21 miles in the Wrangler 4xe is something to write home about. Guess what you get in the winter? Guess what you get with the AC running? Guess what you get with the heated seats and steering wheel on? Until you have lived with a 4xe, you should probably not discuss the pros/cons or speculate.

Edit: Care to speculate on range when you hit 55mph plus? I don't mind sharing.
