My passive entry kit came in and today I put it in. I didn't break any records doing the install but I was in my warm and dry shop. I will see if the wife even notices something different.
Did you buy this as a kit or different pieces? Links?

Still no jeep work lately. Especially now that its -20 this morning.

But this sweet girl is looking so much better! If I didnt get her when I did she would not have made it. Blind on the left and maybe 50% vision on the right. Not too bad considering she had a on and off infection for over 2 years.

I’m using my phone for a monitor. I have a suction ram mount to the front window I use when on the trails for my on-x. I don’t have the 8.4 so adding the stock trail cam is a no go for me. I don’t plan to use the camera frequently, but wanted to ability to see coming off a steep incline. So far I like the view. I may adjust a little more down after some use. For less the $40 I figured it was worth a try.
Coming off an incline is one place where it's pretty useful.
The definition isn't as good as the 1080p but at least I can see which way the trail goes coming off the hill and how steep it is. Before I would always have to stop to get out and look at what was ahead.
I had to make a few adjustments after install and get used to visualizing what I was seeing on the monitor.
I also get a lot of glare when the sun is hitting the light colored ground here. I'm looking for a good polarized film to put over the lens to get try and reduce that.
You are right about the $40 price tag. For me it's a good way to test the front cam option before taking the plunge for the factory one and gives me something to use until I can get the time for that project. Being the proactive type I'll want to have everything planned and lined up before I move forward on implementing it.

Removed the Injen cold air, installed the S&B still some growl but not near as obnoxious. I think the build quality was better in the Ingen though. Installed the Barricade Rock slider steps. Installed the Hike It throttle controller.

Can I ask, did you swap your hinges with a. Different brand or just oem and black? Want to upgrade mine.

Nothing sexy:
  • 2x Windshield wiper blades
  • Engine air filter
  • Cabin air filter
  • RockStopperz Hinge Protection Kit(also available via Amazon)
    • If you have a new Jeep do this immediately for some cheap and easy paint protection. I did something similar on my 2013 JKR back in the day off the lot but just slipped my mind this time around. Four of the eight hinges on mine are chipped up and I'm waiting for a paint pen to come in to touch them up before applying the protection.
    • CheeperJeeperTV video about the product.

May not be sexy, but important as hell!

Nothing exciting today. I put clamps on the drain hoses for the BakFlip tonneau cover. As a pre-emptive measure against the broken visor issue, I installed these TACCOM single clip made in USA visor clips on each visor. I did not go for the double sun visor clip, since this will keep a non-broken visor in place. I actually have a double clip lying around, but without filing down the end, they muck up the visor. If this single visor clip should fail, I will put the double clip on. Search Amazon for TACCOM if interested. Huge thread on the JL wrangler forum about this sunvisor issue.

New Rock Trix RT117s installed! Got a great deal on them with an online coupon code, so went ahead and bought a 5th and got it mounted. I got some Jeep center caps I'm working on, so I left them off. Not too fond of the RockTrix logos. Also had a good talk with a fellow Jeeper and Vietnam vet while waiting. He had a nice one himself... an '03 Rubicon Tomb Raider Edition #7xx of 1000.

When I first bought mine before I got mud flaps on, the road cinders beat the hell out of my hinges. I got some touch up paint and then put covers on them from Amazon.
