Had an opportunity to meet Scott & Shawnna, the owners of Aiden James Customs

Scott installed their platform in my bed. Im gonna be using it for a few things periodically but most of the time it’ll be a pro eagle, couple coolers and an easy tie down for a 42 but it works will all sorts of “overland” type gear like cargo slides and various drawer systems.

Super nice people and a true mom & pop small business. Theyve got some other cool stuff coming soon for the JT.
they also do a lot of installs and service

That’s an interesting concept for sure. Does it rely solely on mass and friction to mount into the bed?

Saw your dm ill get back in the morning

as far as the mounting, it utilizes the d ring mounting at the front and the interference from the loops at the rear of the bed.

Whats the point of this?
It seems a pretty much be a direct rip off of the goose gear mounting plate. Without the spots to mount accessories to it.

It’s just a piece of bed-lined plywood cutt into the shape of the bed?

Edit. 500 bucks for a piece of plywood and some bedliner ?

Never heard of either until today... looks like it has some sort of liner on it and predrilled holes for you to mount accessories. I'm not into the overlanding scene, I like to camp.. I take a coleman stove a sleeping bag and a tent with the cheapest biggest cooler I can find... not sure why people are trying to make gourmet meals in a skottle in the woods.

Just thinking about setting and clean up after for a gourmet meal makes me feels lazy as hell lol. Most are doing it for clicks and probably don't even cooks at home ?

I should have taken some better shots.
they have premapped a ton of different accessories and installed t nuts in corresponding places, so you just find the corresponding spot and insert a t bolt.

the rhino liner is covered in is also super course so theres a lot of grip for loose items as well

Whew, $500 piece of plywood.

Just not for me as all. It's a solution for someone though. I have four nutcerts in my bed floor to attach my fridge to, everything else just gets thrown in/around it. But I'm a casual camper/adventurer, not an overlander.

I 200% agree on that part.
From my perspective this is most useful for someone like me who needs a lot of mounts to prevent heavy things from becoming missiles, especially a pro eagle jack which ive seen almost kill somebody. You wont catch me running a roof rack, awning, bed tent etc I carry a super nice ground tent, couple coolers, 2 burner camp chef, 1 pan and a flat top when I go camping or tailgating.

OR someone who likes to carry a lot of stuff like bikes and kayaks.

it appears to be an answer to this product, except it doesn’t require any holes to be drilled into the bed AND whatever items you wanna carry, they will map them out for you and supply mounts for other typical items people often carry. Mine has approximately 100 t nuts on the back side

Appreciate that this is half the cost of the goose gear. I want a single drawer system in the back of my gladiator but I have not found a good way to mount and have been toying w/ the goose gear idea....

Looking at the pics, the GG seems to be a bit higher quality

Agreed. At $500 I would have bought it. Goose gear is high selling their plywood for almost a G. They must be smoking some good stuff over there.

$500 is still steep, but I am willing to bet their rhino coat is better than what I would do - things are usually always better when done in a big shop with room to move. It would have been nice to not drill a dozen holes in the bed for mounting things, but maybe next time. Nice to see another option on the market!
