Is this a typical dealership service practice?? I'm frustrated with the case management repair process and parts delays after multiple failed cam/lifter repairs but love the Jeep Gladiator so I've tried to work through it. Health & future engine reliability concerns prevent me from getting past this easily though... #Jeep you should be better than this... It's been almost a week and I'm still waiting on your promised 48 hour management call back... #DEFECTIVEENGINESTORAGE for CASE # 89726021 (2nd One opened since April) #fumes #Carcinogens #Venting #Oildrippingintothefusebox:facepalm:

I would be standing on top of the dbags desk that runs that dealership, not for struggling with defective parts or defective engineering from Jeep, but for putting those greasy dirt parts on my f’n leather seats!!!! Is their help so unintelligent to not put that crap in the BED of the pickup??? Duh. Hostly, I would have it towed as is to another dealer who would at a minimum show some respect for my $70k investment. I fired one dealership this year already for selling my parts to another customer that had been on order for seven months all over Jeeps inability to paint it. Good Luck

Are you actively driving this? Part of your post makes it sound like it's at the dealership, but another part makes it sound like you've been driving it around and oil/fumes have been circulating.

I would imagine you aren't, unless those are spare/replaced parts...

They couldn't even put the parts in the bed of the truck? Unbelievable. I'd leaving a review with pictures if this ordeal is ever resolved.

I had this happen with a collision center, I made them pay for a detail before I would accept delivery.
Instead of hire a detail service, they tried to steam clean the door cards that were covered in grease and oil, which caused the cloth to separate from the card and ruined the airbag sensors in the seats - so they had to buy new door cards and fix the sensors.

This was such a fuckup that I ended up with the personal cell phone number of the owner - who also owned the largest dealer network in the state. (Don't even ask what happens when I really get pissed off.)

The Jeep is at the dealership waiting on backordered parts for the cam, lifter, rocker issues. Tech confirmed it shaved the cam. Jeep doesn't seem concerned about the metal shavings working their way through the engine or the integrity of the engine parts tossed around in my backseat storage compartment. My guess is this why We are replacing some of the same parts again. Broke down before the beach, at the beach and on the way home from the beach... She's sexy and fun, she just can't run...

Did they leave the window down and then tape plastic over it when they moved it outside?

I'd say that's the most egregious part.

I'm not a fan of the dirty parts all over the seat and floor - but if those surfaces were more protected I wouldn't mind it. If your truck has a bed cover I'd say the bed would have made most sense - but otherwise beats the parts laying around inside the shop and getting lost while waiting on parts.

Last time I had my girlfriends mini van apart I folded down the passenger rear seat and laid an old beach towel down on the floor. All dirty parts I wiped down to remove excess fluid and then laid them out on the towel so they would be safe and nothing got lost until I returned.

Anyway - I'd have a chat with them. I would not be pleased about dirty parts laying all over the seats.

Given what I do for a living though - I have fought this battle many times on how to treat the insides of new vehicles. Some techs / mechanics just don't know any better as wild as that sounds.

The window was down so they could push it to a parking spot. Was difficult for them to roll the window up after with the battery in the backseat underneath the oily engine parts so they tossed a little Hawk Tuah spit on that window magic cover on her. They know Jeep has a full Xpel PPF so I'm sure they'll try to avoid pulling that off during the fix. Amazing how a sexy Gladiator that runs right can make just about anything look good!
