Every brand has hiccups. Some more than others. Most vehicles available today are of much higher quality when compared to vehicles 15 years ago. I've had close to 40 cars (I lost count) and the most reliable have been Jeep. Also, I adjust my expectations according to what I paid. If I paid $50k for a Jeep it would be unrealistic to expect Rolls Roice quality. With that being said, I do expect for the engine and transmission to work flawlessly. I like my JTR, but I think it was a half baked execution trying to catch up with other brands in the mid size truck market. While the 3.6 is a good engine, it should have never been in the engine bay of a JT. In a car or minivan yes, but not in an offroad truck that will tow on occasion. Every other truck in the market produces more power and torque than the weezy JT. No offense here, but the truth is the truth. GMC Canyon /Chevy Colorado- 310HP/430LBS torque, Tacoma- 326/465, Ford Ranger 315/400, Nissan Frontier 310/281. JT a measly 285/260. Bottom of the barrel numbers. If Jeep wants to sells more Gladiators, put a real engine and not a minivan one.

Maybe from your viewpoint.

If any of their research had shown that the expense of adding a V8 to the Gladiator would have increased sales enough to justify the cost, they would have done it long ago.

The Mojave was designed as a high speed Desert Runner. The additional weight of the diesel engine eliminated it as an option from the very beginning.
I’m about to prove just how false the assumption that a diesel cant absolutely dominate in the desert is

There's no reason it cannot. The extra weight just didn't work with the Mojave as it was designed. The US emission requirements are also an issue.

Every product goes through a cycle.
Hula-Hoops are a classic example,
a fad that burned bright and flamed out quickly.

Harley-Davidson is another.
When there was a one year waiting list
they were doing great.
Then they invested in greater production
just as their target market aged out.

Jeep may be having the same problem.
The exclusivity and uniqueness of a Jeep is no more.
They have become a fad. Everybody has one.
Rugged individualism has been supplanted by ducks.

In my case I love Stellantis! Outstanding build quality for the price ($18g off MSRP) I paid and being a Jeep. The interior design, fit and finish are awesome! Love how nice the door shuts like a swiss watch. They are brought us this GEM of an engine the Eco Diesel! The most fuel efficient 3.0 Diesel ever that makes very high torque.

They’re in for a rude awakening when they find out the consumer doesn’t want the 4xE, and probably half of those were leases, the other half were recalled. If Jeep goes electric or v6 only I’m walking away.
Except the consumer does want the 4xe. That's why they sold 60,000 of them in a year. Saying the average Wrangler won't see so much as a dirt road is an understatement. There's a reason they have as much equipment as any other SUV now - it's because off-roaders are the extreme minority buyer for what is now a lifestyle vehicle.

Electric is the future and gas engines will ultimately disappear. I for one am 100% for it if they can get around the battery capacity/charging issue. An electric 4-motor SUV is the perfect off-road design.

We just had this conversation on the other forums, and it ended the same way.

Stellantis is stuck with a boneheaded decision by FCA to forfeit from an agreement reached a few years back, between fourteen CARB states and Ford, Honda, VW, BMW, to get extensions/exceptions on the sale of regular ICE vehicles.

Because FCA dropped the ball so royally, in mid-2023 Jeep had to issue a policy to only keep 4Xes in inventory in CARB states; ICEs elsewhere. Dealers can still factory order anything customers want, but they are only allowed to stock 4Xes in CARB states; ICEs elsewhere.

I live in a CA, a CARB state: Jeep has been running some insane promotions on 2024 JL 4Xes for several months now. Last time I checked, they had tons of 2024 4Xes in stock; all with $10,000, $15,000, and a few for $20,000 off.

But the deals are only good on leases. They use the tax credit as upfront capital reduction, and my guess is Stellantis has to be giving dealers some juicy rebates behind closed doors.

I bought a new 2023 Mojave a little over a year ago. Prices then were ridiculous then (and for all other Brand's vehicles) and they were trying to add 5K dealer markup over MSRP. I got out around 1K under MSRP, but spent about 5 hours to get that price. I had saved up for about 5 years and really wanted a Jeep so I bought it. So far the truck has exceeded my expectations. The Pentastar engine works well enough for me, I don't drive much over 75 mph on the freeway and the engine handles that easily. Do I wish it was faster off the line? Sure, but not a dealbreaker. I found it has plenty of torque in 4WD Lo for where I have taken it, made a 3-day trip to the Anza Borrego desert and pushed it hard, no issues, took it to Lake Tahoe in January during a week where it dropped over 3 feet of snow and it did great. Recently took it to Hollister and ran all sorts of obstacles from rock climbing, water crossing, and a deep mud pit, and outside of some skid plate scratchs from rock contact no issues whatsoever. I have yet to have any work done on it other than oil changes and tire rotations. Stellantis may have issues, but I have been really impressed/happy with the truck. They really need to work their price points imho. Fully agree with most Jeeps in my area never see anything other than pavement, which is sad for the capability of a Gladiator.

I mean let’s face it, the only way to turn it around would be a Mojave Diesel.
The only thing even close to that was the Overland with the diesel option, and both of those have been discontinued.

I personally enjoy seeing all of these corporations (not just automobiles) who've been gouging their customers since the pandemic, suffer. A lot of them really should be left to go under with a big middle finger from consumers. I've stopped spending my money at quite a few places over the last 4 years and don't miss a one.

I like this truck, but it has quality issues, Jeep dealerships truly suck more than any I've ever experienced, and their prices are too high. I hope it can survive, but if not, someone competent will eventually buy the Jeep brand and make it better.

This CEO should be shitcanned. All he did was jack up prices without bettering the product, and then sales tanked. He was blinded by greed, and chased away customers in droves.

Privatize Jeep. CEOs will argue that they are at the mercy of the market. I'm sure one of them will testify that if they didn't gouge to drive up revenue, investors would go eslewhere.

Trying to package a "simple, effective, easy to fix in the field" JT or JL as a luxury SUV or Truck doesn't make sense.

Move Grand Cherokees up market, stick to the mantra for Wranglers. But you can't do that if all you're focused on is margin.
