Hello all,

I have a ‘22 gladiator rubicon with the front still number from the factory that can take a winch; I see the newer models are offered now from the factory with them.
Can anyone tell me what parts exactly are needed to get to get the winch properly installed onto my truck, meaning the additional items like the specific plates that allow for the cable to go through, and also where could I get them all as a package all together?

Any JL/JT winch plate on the market should come with all the parts needed to mount the winch. The winch should come with the wiring and mounting hardware. I've installed different winches and plates on 2 different JLs and never had to buy anything else.

Warn and Artec sell winch plates. Others may as well. Straight forward easy job.

thanks for the info on the past thread, I will definitely look into it. Mine has a factory steel bumper with the prep for the winch (the spacing for it). Ive been hawking other jeep with it, I like the factory oem clean install like these that I have seen on the street and at the NYC car show at the jabots center in 2024
these are the part #s when I was looking up on the mopar site, I was wondering if they're the same things/ite,ms as on the '24s oem offering from the factory

You’ll spend less calling Warn directly. Mopar adds to the cost. Warn will get you everything you need. Once you get part numbers from them, buy from northridge or Amazon to save even more.

I do not recommend the warn jeep winch plate. it was a real PIA, I've already thought about taking it off and buying the mopar one, if I didn't get it with that super sale they were having a couple weeks back I'd have sent it back.

Hell even the plastic trim tabs don't line up with the warn one, I had to cut several of the tabs off to get it to fit.

I have the new 2024 jeep fairlead thingy, except I don't have the nuts to attach the bolts to it. and im afraid I'm going to have to drop my bumper and take the winch back off to get them installed. If I have to do that, I will buy the Mopar one, and just eat the couple hundred dollar loss as oppose to try and install everything back on again.

I hope others had an easier install time than I did with the warn kit. Not to mention I have a whole damn big metal piece I have no clue what its for. Best of luck!

I've done several installs with Warn plates and don't remember having any issues.

Looking at the pictures OP posted of winch installs I REALLY like the extra room for wiring under the new grill.

damn it. Must be user error. I was a one more foul word away from getting my grinder out.
I can’t even get all of the skid plate bolts in.
They just don’t align. Which has to be by design since it pushed the bumper outwards 1/4 inch?

Start again, put everything together completely loose, tighten nothing…do you have a pry bar with a pointy end? If not, HF has a set for $10. 1/4” short across the width of everything your touching is not that far, the pry bar will let you have your way it. Good Luck.

I’ve seen winch plates and bumpers with integrated plates, that pull things together as they’re tightened. Many times you need to finger tight all fasteners, and certain fasteners need to be tightened before the others, or holes don’t line up. Every setup is different. Sometimes you just need to figure out which ones need to be tightened first. My first time installing the bumper on this jeep had the same thing happen. Then I reversed which bolts went in first and it worked fine.

This. I’d avoid the pry bar if possible, but nothing wrong with a drift punch used correctly. The key is tighten absolutely nothing. A few threads per bolt max until all of them are partially threaded.

Adding to this, depending on alignment, in rare occasions I’ve taken this concept further. Sometimes buying some longer bolts with the same size, thread, and pitch can help temporarily. Just for initial fitment. Then remove them and swap in the correct length during the tightening process. After the other bolts have pulled things into alignment.

If I had to put on a spacer that moved the bumper out, how would the skid plate bolts line back up with the frame? Is there enough play?

it took me 6-7 hrs to install it the first time, when I get home I’ll grab a picture of the extra piece I have as well. Maybe somebody can tell me what it’s for, might explain the issues I had.

Did peoples kit come with the plastic trim piece that goes onto the front of the bumper? I had to buy it seperate.

Does anybody have the part number for the new trim pieces that are on top of the 2025 bumper?
