I have 2022 Gladiator and due to my mistrust of the ability of Jeep mechanics, i have replaced a failed seal and bearing in front diff.

Does anyone know what the oil capacity for this diff is?

Note that the listed diff fluid capacities are really for reference only. They should be filled to the proper level, which is to the bottom of the fill hole (technically, the level is specified as "approximately 1/8 inch (3mm) below the bottom edge of the oil fill hole"). This should be specified in your Owner's Manual as well.

In my opinion, just get the proper fluid, sit the Jeep as level as you can. Then fill until it starts dripping out the fill hole. That’s really all it takes. If you’ve ever changed gear lube in a marine outdrive, these are the same concept. The gears just need to be bathed in lube. If I’m doing both diffs, I buy 4 of these, but you’ll have plenty left over.

How does the front axle disconnect get its oil level checked?

It appears to me that oil from the diff pumpkin flows across, however there is a seal between the two.
How long should i wait for the tidal level between the two to equalize?

Im concerned that the front axle disconnect has ro be lubricared via a long tube through the outer axle before the outer shaft is installed with a fixed amount of oil?

There’s a bearing, but not a seal on the diff side of the fad. It should lubricate from the diff. The seal is on the outside of the fad.

there's a seal visible inside the diff pumpkin...does oil travel through that seal? (image has RHS intermediate axle partially removed)

Also, if oil does flow between the diff pumpkin and the FAD, wouldn't the initial oil level when its first filled dropand require a topup?

Ive just checked mine after the car has sat for 7 days and been driven 10km once a couple of days ago...the level doesnt appear to have changed in relation to the diff filler hole.

Oil does travel down the tube. That said, it’s possible yours didn’t drain completely before you filled up. If your level is good at the cover then you’re good in general.

When you drain the diff as regular service, the oil in the fad stays there. It'll require a top off if you pulls the axle and fad for like regearing. Same with the rear diff. Dana's aftermarket diff covers has 2 fill holes, lower one is same level as stock cover, upper hole is initial fill for dry diff or after regeared. The fluid capacity difference between the upper and lower is about 3/4 qt.

That not a seal but a guide ring. It serves 2 purposes. It helps with aligning the axle with spider gear and centering the axle to prevent damaging the seal at the fad while installing axle.
