i worked at a Ford dealership when they did their first "Family Pricing for Everyone" pitch (i think) over a decade ago.

Ford operates on an A, Z, D, X plan system. A for corpos, Z for corpo retirees, D for dealership employees and X was for just the generic "i work for a company that has some connection with Ford" pricing. Including people who worked for companies that Ford advertised with.

X plan was $200 below invoice in my day. Light research says today it's 0.4% below invoice plus $275, which isn't that far off from -200.

You know what pricing my dealership gave out in their internet department to get people in the door? invoice for mustangs, 200 below invoice for most models, 300 below invoice for slow sellers.

For reference: D plan (i bought a few cars this way) was 2.5% below invoice. A and Z plan was D plan minus $100.

I bought my gladiator in 2022 when there were no rebates for 3% below invoice, at a time when many people without tread lightly or financing were getting 6% below.

"Employee pricing" is a gimmick back then and it remains so today.
Holy shit, my heads spinning. A plan, z plan, ……..

Actually received word today Ram 1500, Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer production are all on pause until May.
Stellantis said they have a shortage of 3.0L engines, which was a big reason for pausing production of the Ram 1500, Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer.

OK somebody, tell me what exactly Employee pricing is. I bet it's not the 30% off and in talking to sales people, it's good, but NOT that good... NOtice its on 24's.

Here is what they did in February when they offered this or something similar.
https://behappyfamily.com/how-to-receive-a-discount-on-chrysler-friends-and-family.html

Here's a cars.com article excerpt

"Most manufacturers, including GM, Nissan, Toyota and Stellantis, provide discounts on cars to current employees and retirees, and though the programs vary, they often reduce transaction costs to near or below the price on the invoice sent to the dealer. That makes them a very good deal that’s well worth your consideration.

However, not all automakers’ employee discounts are the same. You’ll have to double-check to see what kinds of discounts, if any, you qualify for, and if those offers extend to purchases, leases or both. While a dealership can often tell you — especially if you’re getting an employee discount as a dealership employee — you may also want to walk in the door knowing what kind of deal you’ll be offered. Fortunately, many companies now put information about employee discounts online. Alternately, if you can’t find it there and you work for the automaker or a related company that is eligible for employee pricing, your company’s benefits manager can likely find that information for you.

If you qualify, you should ask if the deal includes all rebates and if any additional discounts apply, such as being a recent college graduate. When you want to see the lowest possible amount on your invoice when purchasing or leasing a vehicle from a dealer, you need to take advantage of every savings opportunity."

Here's an internal FCA document on it.

Sounds like they're prepping for production at Saltillo costing them more.

BTW: A Jeep dealer near me is advertising 2025 Mojave X's for a hair under $50K.

Wow, I didn't hear that. There was some speculation that Stellantis might move the Ram HD to the Warren Plant in time for the ALL NEW 2027 5th gen Ram HD. Any insights? @Jrgunn5150 might have a few insights as well.

Impressive, especially since Stellantis was created in 2021.
Pshh. They've been so poorly run they are that far ahead of the curve.

I got a 'good deal' in 2021 on my Gladiator. 500 off sticker. Fucking COVID and living in SoCal.

It's all relative.

Stellantis has one plan though, right? Ford has 4 different plans.
Have three that I know of:

  • Friends and Family
  • Supplier
  • Employee

Interesting, I did not know that.
I have done the supplier one that they call "Affiliate Rewards" which is 1% below invoice, the same as the Friends and Family.

Employee is 5% below invoice and is run through their "Employee Advantage" program that also registers the Friends and Family referrals.

Caveat to either program is that if a dealer is using rebate and dealer discounting that takes the pricing below these invoice numbers, they are not stackable and is either or.

Haha, i got mine in 2021 and got the Hank Hill special, not a dollar over sticker. At least I got a decent sub-3% rate.

The only silver lining was mine just came off of the truck from the factory an hour before I got there, so it had zero "test drive" miles on it. It still had all of factory wrapping on it when I test drove it.
