The bump stops on the 3.0L slam hard on anything like a minor pothole at speed. I had to baby it on the trail the other weekend as well.

Is it me, or is this known? I’m temped to get some teraflex oil damped stops until I get the lift.

The diesel has long ass bump stops. If you look at it sitting in the driveway, you only have a couple of inches of travel before they touch. Mine hit over every bump too until I lifted it.

My 37s came before all the lift pieces, and I put them on with the stock suspension to see if they would rub, and sure enough the bump stops kept the 37s from hitting even with the stock Willys suspension.

This is how little up travel you have, no rub:

It's a known issue. Most take care of it with a leveling kit, or a lift kit. I have the JKS hydraulic bump stops. Thinking on swapping them out for either King or Fox.

I seem to remember there being a recall/fix for this on certain years that were effected. I have a 23 that did not have this issue. I would suggest searching some older threads from 2021 for this issue.

Bump stops??? What are those??? Mine have been shoved up in the bump stop tube for as long as I can remember. At most there’s half an inch of foam hanging out that obviously doesn’t do any bumping or stopping.

Yeah, my 2023 Rubicon EcoDiesel doesn't seem to have any issues, either.

My late '23 (Built in november of '23) has this issue. My wifes 2019 JL glides over speed bumps and what not without issue. My JT diesel however bottoms out all the time. Both rubicons.

There have been a couple of threads on the issue. There was a TSB on it too. Believe it was a change of bump stop material and different front shocks. Believe the TSB was for early Rubicons up to 2022. Some dealers installed the Mopar lift kit as a fix.

Wow, that's strange. My 2023 was built on December 6th. Maybe I don't drive the Jeep that hard. 🤔

I would consider installing the Mopar lift kit on my Rubicon, but I don't want to jeopardize fuel economy/towing performance.

I dont drive it hard. Infact I drive it "nicer" then my wifes JL and my lifted TJ because the JT bottoms out so easily. If I go over a speed pump at 15 mph it bottoms out. I can go over the same speed bump with the JL and TJ at 25+ and they dont bottom out at all. Theres maybe 1.5" to 1.75" of space between the bump pad and bump stop. I think a terflex leveling kit is in the future.

Well, I'm not going to lie. I only have 2,300 miles on my Gladiator, so maybe I just haven't experienced it yet. However, if I plan to tow in the future, then I might need to put a small lift on it. Towing will put stress on the front and rear suspension with a weight distribution hitch.

See attachment for the TSB. FWIW, the problem has been mostly corrected on my '21 JTRD by installing Bilstein 5100 shocks.
I know yours is Diesel and a little heavier but I added steel bumper and it would bottom constantly. So I changed suspension and shocks. Cured. Mine was a Rubicon /Gas those Rubicon springs are soft ..too soft

Yeah, the OG diesels from the sounds of it all do it. Mine had legitimately an Inch of up before contacting the bumps brand new. Had so much rake. Added leveling pucks and solved that problem enough till I took it up to 40's. I would suggest the pucks if lifting is not in the cards. Cheap and easy.
