I recently bought a used '21 Rubicon with super low miles and the previous owner installed an AEV 2″ Spacer Lift on it. It's obvious the previous owner put his never-used stock wheels and tires back on it when he traded it in. I had always planned on installing a 2.5" Teraflex Alpine Suspension Lift Kit with 35" tires on my new Rubicon when I finally purchased one. I had a 2.5" Teraflex Suspension lift on my previous 2-door JK Sahara and loved it.
After taking my JT Rubicon on a couple of trails here in the Colorado mountains with my previous JK's 33" Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T's on it, I'm thinking I might just add a set of 35" Baja Boss A/T's and call it good with the AEV 2" Spacer lift. I'm all about overlanding out here in the Rocky Mountains (ie. Big Bear Pass, Mosquito Pass, etc), but I have no intentions of rock crawling.
Are there any major advantages of a 2.5" Teraflex Alpine Suspension Lift Kit (or similiar) vs the AEV 2" Spacer Lift when it comes to the Rubicon model? I'm sure if we were talking about a Sport model it'd be a different discussion.
